      It was a total disappointment!!!

      We went there for a farewell lunch last week. We were the only table there. However, we waited for almost two hours before the first entrée was served. Two of my colleagues ordered the scallop entree which cost $20.90 each and consisted of only three undersize scallops on each dish with a few slices of mushrooms and a sprinkling of some sauce. The dish was tasteless. Other colleagues’ dishes were also tasteless and heavily overpriced. A basket of 5 slices of plain bread cost $10…. We felt under whelmed.

      I went to La Scala for the first time last week. It was hard to find, expensive and I went away still hungry. I won't be going back.   (Peter - August, 2011)

      I go to La Scal all the time and it is normally very good. Unfortunately, on this particular ocassion the lamb, which we were warned would be rare, which is fine, was well done, which is not fine. The crab and pasta pillows were fairly tasteless. We ordered at 12.30 and got lunch after 2pm. We were given free desert. Hopefully next time will be good as we normally receive from La Scala.       four of us dined there on the 6/3/2010. what a wonderful experience it was.

      the food is definitely a 10/10. it was served promptly and hot. the sauces and and meat were high quality and delicious.

      the chilli scalopini dish is awesome, not to mention hot.

      the ambience would have got 10 instead of nine, but the airconditioning does not seem to cope when the restaurant is full. dont let that deter you though.

      we were more then happy with the value for money as the prices charged were cheap for the quality of food and service.

      the service deserves a 12/10. the waiting staff were polite, prompt, showed sincere interest in our queries and needs as well as having the friendliest attitude we have encountered in our twenty years of dining together in canberra. special mention to the young lady who responded to my allergy issues by seeing the chef who prepared a delicious desert as all the menu deserts contained alcohol. this was done with the minimum of fuss and the waitress was only too pleased to assist.

      we finished with digestives and coffee which finished of an excellent dining experience. the bill was delievered promptly and was accurate.   (cjjay - See my reviews (8) - March, 2010)
