I do not know why the place is so popular. If you know the manager, you do not even line in the queue. No one refills your teapot even if you ask them to do so, they just say that they will come back to do it, but it never happens.
The trolley ladies have no patience whatsoever and serves customers with extremely poor manners. When I asked one of them to repeat the food that was on her trolley, she shouted at you for not paying attention to what she was saying.
Some types of food contains the strong smell of ammonia.
I WILL NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! (abc - January, 2011)

Last weekend we celebrated a birthday here and I have to say that the service was so poor I have made up my mind not to come back here again.
Sure the place is popular and we waited for an hour to come in. There was no courtesy in thanking us for the wait, we were ushered into a room and served by an extremely rude waitress.
The food came to us was mostly cold. There was not enough bowls for everyone and we were scorned for asking more additional bowls.
The same waitress was banging and throwing dishes around deliberately which made it very hard to hold a conversation. We politely asked her to be quieter but she continued.
Very disappointing. (Never again - July, 2010)

Pros:
- Good variety of food on the trolleys.
- Efficient service, even during weekend Yum Cha.
- Food is delicious.
Cons:
- You could be waiting a long time to be seated.
Verdict:
If you want Yum Cha in Brisbane, this is the place to go. My advice: don't arrive any later than 11am, as the restaurant is extremely popular and always packed. (Jerry Hollando - See my reviews (32) - August, 2009)

My favorite place to eat in the world. Nothing better then Yum Cha on a Sunday morning. So authentic. The food is second to none.
Yum cha is great. Lots to pick from. The set menu is also great. Dinner time is lots of fun as well. Very family friendly. Plenty of authentic Chinese dishes and Australian Chinese dishes.
I go every week. Eric, one of the staff members there, will look after you well. Top place! (JD - See my reviews (45) - June, 2009)

WARNING! Calculate your account carefully first at your table before going to the cashier.
After being guided to our table by a impatient senior Asian lady, the Yum Char was an interesting selection, and plenty of it was offered by willing, pleasant and friendly trolley pushers, who I judge by their keenness to serve you are on some type of commission payment.
The place at 11.am the traditional Yum Cha time for the experienced was crowded and humming with the Asian clientele.
Always a good sign.
We were happy.
After we had finished eating, and quickly tallying up the dollar charge for the portions that we had, which was not easy, as the tally sheet that the waitressess marks each dish on that you are served had NO per item prices marked on it.
We did eventually find the individual yum char dish prices on a small seperate menu easily missed under all the other menus on the table and a rough calculation came to approx $32.
Warning bells rang and I was already alert and suss to the fact that the prices for the individual yum char items were not on the tally sheet.
Sure enough, the senior cash desk woman after making the appropriate squiggles and rapid indecipherable calculations requests $45.60.
I asked her to check it, as we guessed it at approx $32,she then did the appropriate moves, but no change.
Distractions were busily thrust upon us,with her busily doing other dockets for other folk paying, etc, etc,so i said ok and filled out the CC form.
I asked for the docket so I could check it later in my own time, but guess what,"no sorry we keep that.
Every thing here leads me to only one conclusion. (See my reviews (8) - February, 2009)

Landmark Restaurant is the most authentic place for Yum Cha in Brisbane. Tends to get quite crowded on weekend afternoons. Food is pretty good and quite cheap. Trolley service is average, however the self-service area is great. The renovation has made the interior feel more spacious and classy. It can be quite noisy but in the end that is part of the Yum Cha dining experience.
The dining tables are quite awkward to sit at since the tables which are designed for two the restaurant has made to serve four or more - making it extremely uncomfortable if you have more than two diners. Apart from that, Landmark offers fantastic value and is great for lunch. Be prepared to wait to be seated if you do not have a booking. Booking in advance however doesn't necessarily mean being seated immediately. (Gourmet - See my reviews (10) - February, 2009)

Since we were hosting overseas guests I was looking for a Yum Cha restaurant. Unfortunately it was not indicated at the time of biiking that Yum Cha is only during lunch time. We had to be informed on arrival...
Otherwise we were very happy with the service and quality of food.
Thank you, (January, 2009)

It is a good idea to book in advance or you may be waiting quite a while for a table. Be aware that you may still need to wait for your table so it is wise to arrive a few minutes before your booked time, particularly on a Sunday. Don't be shy about pushing your way to the front to speak to the head waiter if there is a crowd in the foyer.
We had a table of 7 people and enjoyed a light lunch with sweets afterwards. On this occasion, everyone was satisfied with the green tea and no other drinks were ordered. We paid approximately $11 per person but I would suggest you budget for approximately $15 - $20 for a group between 6-8 people, drinks extra.
The food was delicious, the service was good and the atmosphere is that of a busy, family-orientated restaurant - noisy but warm and relaxed.
It is probably as close to authentic yum-cha as you can get in Brisbane. Highly recommended! (August, 2008)

A great yum cha experience. I think most of Brisbane likes this restaurant as well as it was extremely busy. All staff were pleasant. Food was excellent. We made a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes for a table but at least this was a shorter time than those without a reservation. We will definitely be back. (July, 2008)

I love the Yum Cha at this place and go regularly. There are plenty of "safe" dishes for those who arent too fussed on trying things like chooks feet and tripe (although you should give these a go they are great). Dont even attempt lunch on the weekend without a reservation, unless you want a long wait in a crowded spot out front watching everyone else eat. (January, 2008)
