Traditionally, Turkish meals often include a rice or bulgur pilaf dish, lamb or chicken baked with peppers and eggplant, and fresh fish grilled with lemon. A popular lamb cut is pirzola. These are extra thin cut lamb chops which are seasoned with sumac, thyme, and quickly grilled. Favourites include sucuk (Soujouk), a spicy sausage, and pastirma, a sun dried cumin-fenugreek coated preserved beef. It is sliced thin much like pastrami and ”kofte”, spiced lamb meatballs, all tantalize the diner. In a Turkish cuisine, the most common seasonings are dill, mint, parsley, cinnamon, garlic, and the lemony summak (soommak). Yoghurt is a common side condiment. Another southern condiment is Aleppo pepper flakes, or ”pul biber.”

Adana, in southern Türkiye, is famous for it’s ”Adana kebab”, a highly spicy minced meat. Istanbul is known for ”midye” or pilaf stuffed mussel mezze. The Aegean region near Izmir, is known for its figs, fish, and peaches. In some restaurants, lemon cologne is available after dining to pour over hands as a refreshing cleanser.

”Lokum”, a gelled sweet often mixed with hazelnuts or pistachios, is cut into cubes and rolled in powder sugar. Most commonly called Turkish delight. Another favourite is the famous Turkish Baklava. A finely layered filo pastry with thick syrup, baklava is a must after a hearty Turkish meal.

Raki, an aniseed liqueur is the national drink of Türkiye. Sour cherry juice, turnip juice, rose tea and “Elma Çay”(Chai), apple peel tea are all popular. Turkish coffee, black Rize chai (tea), and raki are happy reminders of alfresco dinners.

At Lezzet we endeavour to let you indulge in the finer traditional tastes of Türkiye with a twist of western injection without having to make the trip overseas.

We had a baby so we were thrown right at the back which i didnt mind. Service started off very slow. Then it was better after the 2nd course. Food was nice, i went there with much greater expectations. Being of Turkish origin myself I can say food was turkish influenced but not really turkish food. I went there with the entertainment card. When we asked for the bill they said we couldnt use our card because we had ordered the 5 course banquet and that was not a part of the deal. Very disappointed as we had ordered our food from the specials board and that was not mentioned. Overall it was good, dont expect anything over the top.

We all loved the restaurant and would easily recommend it. Everything was so tasty, beautifully presented. Waiter had great sense of humour but was appropriate at the same time. For those of us not sitting against the window, it was a little noisy, but not enough to be a problem.

We went there for dinner for the first time last night, though it was late (around 9:15pm) we didn't have any trouble finding a table - although we did book 10 minutes in advance. We were welcomed and shown to our outside table, drinks were brought out quickly and then the food menu which was explained thoroughly. We opted for the 5 courses and were delighted with each and every one of them. They were timed very well so as to avoid us getting too full. All in all, a wonderful, memorable and enjoyable experience and we will certainly be back. Thank you Lezzet!

This was my first time dining at a Turkish restaurant and Lezzet definitely left me with a good first impression. The food was so well-presented and the taste was worth the money! I shall definitely be returning with the family!

This is a lovely restaurant which I experienced for the first time last weekend with my partner. Overall we found the food to be very good value for money and were greeted by friendly staff and served promptly throughout the night.

Had a lovely mothers day at Lezzet... good thing we left it to the trusted waitress she was lovely. Our kids were fasinated by the open kitchen and the fireworks the chefs were creating. Try the truffle mushroom soup its fantastic

A wonderful experiance, cosie atmosphere and food that just melts away in your mouth!! Fresh produce seems to be the secret to the moden take on Turkish casuine. I simply love the food and the place... A great winter spot for a meal that will warm you up inside and amazing wine to match!! See you next time.

The only issue I had with Lezzet was the fact that they kept trying to rush us out of the restaurant. We were made to feel like we were taking up space. It was not as if there were people queuing down the street or anything. It was a pity, because the food was very good.

Having started our honeymoon in Bodrum just under a year ago, we figured it appropriate to head to arguably "the best Turkish spot in Melbourne" to cap off a weekend of fine dining. Boy did we make the right choice. For those of you that don't know Lezzet is a Contemporary Turkish Restaurant, which means some traditional and mostly Turkish influence dishes. Not realizing Lezzet had just been through renovations. its cosy and intimate environment proved to be a great choice of MINE. :) Dinner started with a wild mushroom and yoghurt soup, a Meze Platter with Turkish Anchovy, Diced Lamb And Eggplant puree, chicken mousse with goats cheese (my favourite), Duck with preserved baby eggplant. Baris our waiter recommended with share our meals... so we did. we started with a slow cooked leg of lamb with roasted vegetables and fig jus. (what a meal...) definitely not designed for a vegetarian slow cooked for 18 hours in the wood fired oven. Next the Salmon fillet wrapped up with vine leaves and finished with Raki Turkish Liquer. A Downfall we had bread... so no Dessert :(

Not having been back to Lezzet's for a while, I have to say our experience was most enjoyable. Although the restaurant was crowded being Saturday night, the service was timely, friendly and professional. The only minor criticism is the slight overcrowding in the restaurant. We certainly plan to return

After seeing some good reviews and hearing lots about Lezzet I must say that eating there was a complete let down. Possibly the staff were just having a bad night but the nicest thing I would say about them was that they were arrogant (I have read a few more reviews since and this seems to be a common complaint). The food was average and, in my opinion, not good value for money. The restaurant was very noisy and didn't have an easy atmosphere to relax and enjoy - one had the impression that they were keen for you to get out of there so that they could get someone else in next. To sum it up in a word: disappointing.

My family and I showed up at Lezzet without booking, and although it was a busy night, they went out of their way to accomodate us, they were super friendly and welcoming, and the food was just out of this world!! I am definitely going back, but with a booking this time!!

We would like to thank the staff at Lezzet for providing such an AMAZING dining experience! The slow cooked lamb was so tender that you barely had to move your mouth!the new renovations are fantastic, the waitress we had was very tentative and our entire group (which was about 15 people) where left feeling full, satisfied and very much eager to come back again. A highly, highly recommended place to go! The team from Roving Enterprises I very highly recommend Lezzet and

We had booked a week ahead, and would have expected a good table. Sitting in between the toilets and the kitchen run was not ideal. After stepping carefully to our table (the floor was very slippery) and being seated, I was greeted to my left by a gangly looking spider that had made its way down from the rug on the wall. Unfortunatly for the spider, the menu was a great weapon and it was sent to spider heaven. The waiters seemed friendlier than normal, but that could be because of the gorgeous blonde I was with. We entertained ourselves with a pen on the butchers paper which covered the table cloth until the food arrived - which to our delight was absloloutely delicious. I would recommend this venue as a dining experience for those who enjoy good food, good wine and good ambience.

FOOD WAS GOOD BUT ALTHOUGH WE BOOKED A WEEK IN ADVANCE WE SEATED AT THE LAST TABLE NEAR THE DOOR TO THE TOILET. aLSO OUR WHOLE DINING EXPERIENCE WAS OVER IN 45 MINS, WE FIGURED THEY NEEDED THE TABLE. VALUE FOR MONEY, I DON'T THINK SO. iF I WANT TURKISH FOOD I WILL BE HEADING TO BRUNSWICK.

Lezzet is one of those restaurants you want to come back to again and again. Classic Turkish food but with a bit of a modern twist. The fun and very friendly staff make the night an event not just a meal. My advice? Ask the waiters for their recommendations on food - might take you out of your comfort zone but you won't regret it! And leave room for dessert!!!

AMAZING! What a treat for my taste buds! Words can not describe how much I enjoyed Lezzet! A MUST for anyone looking for something different, inventive and just plain perfect!
