It was pleasant to spend the first day of spring away from the hustle of the inner city. By accident we stumbled upon the Lindsay's restaurant, hidden off the Great Western highway at Faulconbridge. As we walked up what seemed to be a bushtrack near the Norman Lindsay Gallery we saw a most picturesque setting with a quaint cottage among the gardens and bushland. And the food.....amazing! The young staff were so friendly and cheerful. And the youngest of all created a cappuchino of excellent quality with a perfect freepour pair of hearts. What a cutie. Thanks to all at Lindsays for a perfect spring outing. (Wanderer1 - September, 2007) Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 10, Service 10
We are loyal locals who love the wonderful food and the friendly service. Congratulations to Cherin and Craig for winning Best Cafe and Best Tourism Restaurant Awards in the Blue Mountains and Central West. Love this place! Very unique in terms of the quality and quantity of food, served by enthusiastic and capable young floor staff, in an environment isolated from the everyday world. Priced right, too. Fabulous! (Local1 - January, 2007) Overall 8.5 - Food 8, Ambience 9, Value 8, Service 9
A fun place to visit, the welcome was warm and happy, the atmosphere was friendly and bright. The food was delicious and very well presented, the service was attentive but not intrusive. I do however have one regret - I ordered a "Magic" pudding for dessert, but unlike the original it did not grow as I ate, and it was soooo nice. Thank you for the experience. Wonderful bush land setting in the gardens of the National Trust's Norman Lindsay estate. Unexpectedly high standard of food and presentation offering great value for money and served up by enthusiastic and courteous attendants. A fabulous find. No where in the Mountains can you find such an interesting menu at prices that are unbelievable value. (Donna - December, 2006) Overall 9 - Food 8, Ambience 9, Value 10, Service 9
A unique dining experience that differs from breakfast, through lunch and on to dinner. Our breakfast experience was that of partaking of a hearty country style meal, al fresco, in the crisp, still mountain air. Put together the early morning calls of the local birdlife, the unobtrusive but detailed attention given by the staff, the bush land environment and the abundance and quality of food and you are made to feel alive and special. Our experiences at a number of lunches has been consistent with a large selection on the menu ranging from the basic to extraordinary. The front of house staff, as they have been keen to inform us, are all locals who display a professionalism beyond their youth. Their friendliness and courtesy are obvious and they are keen to impart their vast knowledge of the heritage estate property. Our one evening meal was taken indoors where the cafe had been totally transformed with the addition of crisp white tablecloths, candles and the like. The mood was totally transformed. Likewise, the menu had been upgraded with a complete change of cuisine. We learned from the restauranters, Cherin and Craig, that, between them, they had learned their skills in establishments such as the Townsville International, Avonleigh, Cafe Bon Ton, Lilianfells Darley's restaurant, Quay, and the Redleaf resort in positions ranging from Apprentice through Head and Executive Chef. We are confirmed "regulars" at this venue and feel part of the family. (Kenneth - See my reviews (4) - December, 2006) Plus Overall 9 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 9, Service 9 from 16 ratings
