      it took more than an hour for our food to come out which was a bit disappointing, but other than that, it was alright. the risotto was nice.

      Down in Melb. for the Cox Plate. Staff friendly - food great- and the "deal " on offer made it very affordable ! Definately would go back !

      Don't go using Split the Bill - why do they join this scheme if they are going to treat customers like lepers. $15 Corkage per wine bottle!! (And we were told it was because we were using split the bill tokens) Waited over an hour for meals which weren't that nice. Never again!

      The food here is absolutely wonderful. Clearly the chefs are some talented people, so on that front I would highly recommend it. As others have stated though, the service does not match up with the impressive food. The waitresses were fine but clearly they need more of them. We were there for 3 hours in total (3 people). The time between each course was actually fine though. It was waiting to order and get the bill that took forever. The other thing to bear in mind, is if you're using the 'Split the Bill' vouchers, a number of menu options which are unavailable. On the starters, neither garlic bread nor bruchetta and only ONE of the dessert options can be chosen! A really bad decision I feel. I would go again though, and would recommend to friends, but would forewarn them of the service and time.

      My partner and I and two friends experienced the worse dining experience of our lives on Sunday night, perhaps because we used split the bill but the meals were so small and the coke was flat and the managers explanation was that he thinks someone told him the other week that there was no gas in the coke, so on sunday when I complained twice he finally sent his bar man to seven 11 to buy a bottle of fresh coke and sprite. The old man spruker almost asaulted a couple for not wanting to eat at the restaurant. We will certainly never go back there . there was no toilet paper in the ladies and the kitchen was a disgrace. stay away.

      Thank you for your review we do take all our reviews as constructional criticism, How ever I'm sorry your evening spent at Little Lygon was unpleasant. Though I must add that when your friend did leave the the restaurant we all said thank you as we do to all our customers, and your friends stated "Thank you for a lovely evening" you then stated "I wouldn't say that" now if your experience was unpleasant please review it a pone your own personal basis. This review site is for people who are a member of menu log and wish to comment on their experience, after using the service which menu log provides so seeing as though you booked under the herald sun split the bill your review should be posted on another site. Looking at your review "perhaps because we used split the bill but the meals were so small " We never decrease the portion size because some one is on an offer, we use good produce sometimes our meals can be fancy in a way were it is small, though many good restaurants use this style also Rock pool 2 Hats, Circa 2 Hats just to name a few. We do split the bill every year and we have so many people call and book again we have many dinners that have dinned on split the bill and came back 3 to 4 times under the promotion. When you brought the drink back to the bar man he opened up a sealed can of coke and pored a glass it wasn't completely flat but it wasn't right either, he then opened another can of coke and the same thing from this point what can we do? i sent the barman to seven 11 to buy some and then brought you a glass and it was fine isn't that what we are supposed to do?, the explanation i gave you was last night at the end of service a waiter had one and said it was flat, could it be that one is flat out of 30..yes what are the chances all 30 were flat? so we apologise that we found that all 30 cans that coca cola supplied to us were flat, the main thing is we rectified the problem.       Wide variety of food choices on the menu, however, very poor service. As a group of 9 people we waited for over an hour to receive our food which was sub-standard, and had inconsistent serving sizes. The heat from the kitchen carried through the restaurant making it quite unpleasant. Dessert was ok...everyone ordered the strawberry crepes which had about 2 strawberries in each. Most likely will not be returning.

      On the whole we had a lovely dinner at little lygon - the food is excellent (highly recommend the duck risotto ). It was a great place for a work team dinner, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were very helpful . At times when ordering food and drinks there were a few moments where orders had to be repeated two or three times until the wait staff understood what we were ordering, but once the orders were taken, the service was really quick. We had one gluten free person in our group, and there was a huge choice of dishes for him, he did enjoy the rice crumbed chicken parmigiana e a lot.       i loved this place it was fantastic the staff was good and so was the food everything was what i expected.gluten free was fantastic the owner even told me if we liked gluten free pizza to call in a day advance and he would get the chefs to make a dough, wow that's something money can't buy serrvice like that!!! service 100/10 food 100/10!!

      Highly recommended was one of the best place on the strip, been eating in lygon st for years watched this place go through 3 or 4 renovations thought id give it a go due to their persisit to always change the place around to make it more inviting anyhow will be my new local from now on .

      Our waiter was lovely but the main meal was more than an hour in coming. Our entree garlic bread took over half an hour to arrive. The duck risotto was very small and only had a 3 pieces of duck. A well done steak came burnt. It was the only meal that was really warm enough to eat. There were plenty of waiters but obviously not many people in the kitchen actually cooking the food. Very disappointing. None of the mains were worth the price we paid. We won't be going back there again.

      The food took over an hour to come, it was a Monday night and not especially busy. Food was very salty and in small portions. -Duck risotto cost $29 and was tiny with not much duck. -They burnt the top of a steak. -Pasta was small and very salty. The food was not worth the price or the wait. I could make better at home. Waitress was good at the beginning but wouldn't bring us a jug of water and didn't come fill our cups with water unless asked. Will not be going back.

      Attended this restaurant last night to celebrate a birthday and what a mistake. We all ordered main meal Fettuccine Marinara and waited 45 minutes for entrée size serving to arrive. The seafood you could count 2 prawns, 1 calamari ring, 1 piece of baby octopus and 2 empty scallop shells in each serve. The sauce was thick and tasteless as if it came out of a bottle. The service was pathetic and the person in charge was rude. Never Again

      A few waiting staff has served us. Most of them did their job fairly well but a male waiter who brought my son's kid's meal brought the wrong dish and when we said that it was not what we ordered, he frowned as if to say that it must have been what we ordered. He eventually realised we were right when he went back to the kitchen and got the right meal for my son in a few seconds. He didn't apologise though. He just made an excuse that he was given the wrong meal the first time. We booked through Menulog who indicated that we'd get a 30% discount but we didn't get it.

      Well were do i start it was my grandmas 79th birthday and did these guys pull it off for us staff was friendly and attentive food was magnificent but the best thing that happen was when the guy in the suit at the front brought out our cake he got the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday to granny! and i mean the whole restaurant that topped it off thanks you little lygon a fabulous job well done!

      we made our booking through menulog and were told we would get a 30% discount. This did not happen. All the staff were very rushed and non attentive and the 16 year old at the till did not know what he was doing. The meals were average definitely not great for the amount we paid. Very chewy seafood in both our meals, a bit disappointing considering mine was a 'most popular dish' Too many other restaurants on Lygon Street for us to go back to a bad one!!

I was out with friends and this guy called Toby grabbed my attention, He told me he had the best food on the street and he wasn't lying. At first i thought he was like the other sprukers but he's a really nice guy, and the food was supurb

      Food was great , gluten free menu made it even better i was a bit worried at first as many restaurants just buy the pasta but the chefs are not trained i do a little test every time i order gnocci (has flour) and if the chefs send the waiter back it happened then the manager came to me and explained all was gluten free on the menu only to steer away from bread and pizza, i had a parma they crumbed it in rice crumbs and fried it separately, this place really impressed me it was great. recommend it to any diner especially people following a gluten free diet.
