Lowenbrau Keller

  Could not move a muscle, both in the general area or by the bar. Waited 30 minutes to get to the bar, only to be told, there was a self serve water, with which there was a long line.

  Unfriendly staff, unfriendly people. Not large enough to accomodate its reputation. Prices quite large. I will not be entering the Lowenbrau again   (BJ - June, 2011)

  Went there for a birthday, in a largish group. Booking was smooth and easy, staff attentive and friendly. The ambience was amazing, it was a real experience. The only downside, for me, was the lack of range in the food. I guess you have to be a bit braver than me to enjoy the types of food they were offering. A lot of items seemed to be meat stuffed with raisins or too traditional German, with no modern twist. I wish they had better alternatives for vegetarians too. I am not vegetarian, but all those meat items that night were turning me off. Icky.   (Jay - See my reviews (19) - May, 2010)

  I went last night for my mate's bucks party and they did not get me in because I was wearing a sleeveless shirt. I called my mate and he went outside to talk to the bouncer and he said NO. I find this discriminatory. The place is not a sophisticated restaurant at all, it is just a pub. I promise I will never spend a cent there in the future.   (JR - March, 2010)

  The entertainment was great - we stayed longer because of it and enjoyed another bier or 2. Unfortunately the service was not so good - we ordered two main meals. One of the meals was served well after the first so my partner had almost finished his by the time mine was served. However the food was tasty and plenty of it. As visitors to Sydney, the reason we chose Lowenbrau was because of the voucher we had for a free 300ml bier with every main meal purchased. We verified this upon arrival however on settling the bill Lowenbrau failed to honour the voucher in full. Very disappointing. We won't return.   (sweetie - See my reviews (2) - January, 2010)

  When I transit Sydney on business, I always include a stop at the Keller. I love the Spatzle! If the weather is nice, I like the patio, but it can get a bit noisey.

  I love this place... the entertainment and outrageous staff uniforms are amazing. Great atmosphere and hearty German food. The bier is fantastic. Who knew you could have so much fun at a restaurant on a Tuesday night :)   (September, 2008)

  Nope... was honestly not impressed. The only thing I could think about when leaving the place was damn this was expensive for what it was. Now you may say my expectations are a little high but still, for a price that is quite similar you could be having a meal of better quality while overlooking sydney harbour. I am sure some people will love it, but it really felt like a sub standard place trying to play in the big boys courtyard to me.   (May, 2008)

  Hens night 13.10.07 Music very loud, did not have a great seat. Next time will book a better table. Have been before and I must say it was much better (8 months ago).Could not see the stage as such, maybe they should take a few less bookings, couldn"t move in the bar nor upstairs.   1) Service: waitress and waiter are poorly trained and worst is the bad attitude of the recept at the entrance....really upset your appetite. 2) Food: Quality has been getting acceptable to worst. Used to be good but now I will not recommend to friends and visitors to Sydney. Portion of the steak is shrinking. Roast pork is very salty. I think the roast at HSBC food court taste much better at fraction of the price.   (James - August, 2007)
