Absolutely disgusting customer service. Ordered through menulog and forgot to add rice.. So called the restaurant direct to add rice onto the order & was assured that rice would be added & would be an extra $3 which was fine.. The order came an hour later with no rice. Called the restaurant and was given every excuse and he was trying to brush me off (obviously intending for me to say not to worry about it) saying that there is no way to contact the driver and he has 5 deliveries before he gets back. Told him I wanted the rice anyway. 1/2 hour later a rice arrived and the driver asked to see the receipt and claimed that we never paid for it (which we did) and continue to argue with me at the front door and ended up handing the rice over saying it was "complimentary". They even complained that menulog charge them too much so it wasn't worth their while getting the driver to bring back a measly $3 container of rice... I was absolutely disgusted and he couldn't care less that I wouldn't eat there again. Nice food but was cold by the time we ate and destroyed the mood of our night... Will NOT eat from here again!   (Louise - May, 2013)

Terrible phone manner. Do not care about the customer they only care about getting the order. Delivery time is never the time stated. They are always late.   (Mick - See my reviews (2) - June, 2012)

  • Overall 5 - Food 5, Value 5, Speed 5

I feel the standard of service has dropped. The last two meals were delivered wrong and took 1.1/2 to arrive then i was asked to go and pick up the correct meal. I refused so had to wait further 1/2 hr for the delivery.   (Louise - May, 2012)

  • Overall 4 - Food 7, Value 4, Speed 1

Food is pretty good but the delivery time is very poor - It's not even recommendable if you are hungry and can have wait only 1 hour. Yes, it takes that long.   (Aenpo - See my reviews (4) - March, 2012)

  • Overall 6.7 - Food 9, Value 8, Speed 3

Delivery times are getting very long these days. Sometimes the food arrives cold. Food is good however I find service not the best.   (Jayden - See my reviews (2) - February, 2012)

  • Overall 6.7 - Food 8, Value 6, Speed 6

Delicious, probably the nicest Indian cuisine we have had in a while.   (Roger - See my reviews (2) - November, 2011)

  • Overall 5 - Food 5, Value 5, Speed 5

pretty ordinary experience, service ordinary, attitude of waiters ordinary, except for one girl who was pleasant and helpful. Chicken tikka dry, naan bread was good. We asked to be moved away from the music, as my husband cannot speak loudly due to a medical condition and cannot speak over loud music. We asked them to light the heater, which was right near us and their comment was, if you hadn't moved from inside you wouldn't be cold. While we were in the middle of our meal they noisely started to move tables and chairs around. Will not go again and will tell anybody I know not to go there   (reviewer - August, 2011)

  • Overall 3.7 - Food 5, Value 5, Speed 1

Person answered the phone as if it were a residence instead of a business. Tried to place a take away order and was stopped midway and was left waiting on the phone for 5 minutes while they answered other calls (I could hear each call). Called on their other number and complained.

When I arrived to pick up the order 30 minutes later, had to wait another 30 minutes. No apology or recompense for the delay. Food was okay.

Will not order from here again with this poor service.   (Chris - May, 2011)

  • Overall 8.7 - Food 9, Value 8, Speed 9

Only complaint was the restaurant had no idea whether they had received payment, there was confusion with regards to vouchers purchased through stardeals -we paid online with mastercard.   (Gerard - April, 2011)

  • Overall 8.3 - Food 10, Value 9, Speed 6

We always eat at Maharaja's as well as order deliveries. I would say 10 times out of 10 the food and service is excellent, when we eat in. It is a lovely atmosphere and very authentic. The lunch specials are really good value for money. We only had one incident in three years when our delivery was 2.5 hours late. Overall, we will happily continue to frequent Maharaja's.   (Kimberly - February, 2011)

poor food and service.   (john - October, 2010)

  • Overall 2 - Food 1, Value 2, Speed 3

The entree was dry and its not fresh and the naan bread was very small. The samosa was overcooked. It is a very bad experience.   (mical - October, 2010)

  • Overall 7.3 - Food 8, Value 7, Speed 7

The food was good, they called us and gave us a heads up that the food would be late. A little on the expensive side but all up a good experience.   (Liz - See my reviews (4) - July, 2010)

  • Overall 4.7 - Food 3, Value 5, Speed 6

  • Overall 7.7 - Food 10, Value 8, Speed 5

We had the food delivered, and although it took over an hour, it was DELICIOUS!

All the meats were cooked to perfection, and the sauces were to die for!

This restaurant has the REAL and TRADITIONAL food of India, not the boring standard dishes (i.e Butter chicken etc) you get from your everyday Indian restaurant.

The menu was lush to say the least!

Friendly service from the delivery man.

Very highly recommended!   (Geof - See my reviews (4) - August, 2009)

  • Overall 7 - Food 8, Value 5, Speed 8

I was here in Sep 2008 and went back this time to find that the service had improved considerably. Food was good. I had the naans (excellent) and the balti chicken (good). Rather pricey.   (Sue - See my reviews (4) - July, 2009)

  • Overall 6.7 - Food 7, Value 6, Speed 7

Delivery was quick, and the food was piping hot. The flavours were great. Very happy, and will probably use again. Maybe a little bit on the expensive side.   (Kirsty - See my reviews (2) - June, 2009)

  • Overall 7 - Food 8, Value 6, Speed 7

On the whole an above average dining experience. Lost points on service and also prices were on the higher side for a eatery in a shopping centre food court with no seperate entrance or exit.

The ambience is quite good but looses the touch of exclusivity, diners associate with a name like 'Maharaja'. Will recommend it to others for the food but not dining experience.   (Ryan Sequeira - March, 2009)

  • Overall 8 - Food 8, Value 7, Speed 9

Good food with fresh flavours, that was delivered 15 mins ahead of schedule. We ordered 2 dishes with rice and naan bread which would have been enough for 3 adults. Instead, there is left overs for lunch tomorrow.   (Meile - January, 2009)

  • Overall 7 - Food 7, Value 6, Speed 8

Quick service & lovely food   (Nic - See my reviews (2) - November, 2008)

  • Overall 3.7 - Food 5, Value 5, Speed 1

Very slow service and all food was cold. Will not use again.   (Jennifer - September, 2008)

  • Overall 3 - Food 4, Value 3, Speed 2

    Food arrived late and cold

We must have been on the end of the delivery line as the food was also dry .

In defence of the restaurant they did call us to advise of the delay. I would not use this restaurant for home delivery again.

Menulog was most effecient   (Yaringa - August, 2008)

Dishes were watery with no substances. Butter chicken and Korma dishes were a few chunks of meat in a colured gravy. The difference in flavour was hardly noticeable. The Tandoori chicken had some much chilli as to mask the flavour of the tandoor.

The view is great but the place just does not feel right.   (See my reviews (2) - July, 2012)

One of the best Indian food restaurants we've ever been to. The service was outstanding, so as the food. Authentic Indian taste....Make sure while ordering you clarify desired level of spicyness i.e. hot, medium or less.. We've ordered medium spicy and it was perfect... The live music on Friday night was just enough to make you feel special....Overall it was really a very good experience.   (April, 2011)

Patio heaters on high, when you were roasted they turned them off so you froze. My wife want her curry hot, it was mild. I asked for extra hot and it was like a lamb stew very mild (put the blame on the PC!). 8 of us, one bottle of wine and seven beers drank (we brought in, corkage = $15 for beer and not sure what the wine was as other couple paid. Someone brought in a kid that screamed incessantly for an hour and I left my gun at home!   (madbro - October, 2010)

We have now ordered take away here about 4 times. The food is always absolutely beautiful, particularly the lamb korma and the butter chicken. We can highly recommend this restaurant.   (Indian Restaurant - October, 2008)

    • Overall 8 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 9, Service 7

It was a good dining experience, but for two gliches. First, the restaurant is in the "food court" of the local mall. I didn't know that. This was overcome, however, by a spectacular view of the pond and surrounding area out the window. Secondly, the restaurant claimed to have NO BOOKING for our visit. They were happy to seat us, but the booking (and therefore the discount) wasn't successful, despite the many e-mails reassuring us otherwise...Luckily, they weren't that busy, and the mall was basically closed, so we got seated and there were no screaming children. -And the food was prety good...   (James - September, 2008)

    • Overall 6.3 - Food 7, Ambience 8, Value 5, Service 5

Excellent- Naan breads, cleanliness, ambience, friendly service.

      Good- Kadhai chicken

Average- Tandoori chicken and Kulfi Falooda dessert.

There was too much of red food coloring in the tandoor chicken, green coloring in the kulfi and red in the rose water! Would have preferred that more subtle. The falooda (vermicelli) was a bit undercooked and the food service was rather slow, but that could be because they were short staffed in the kitchen.

Overall I enjoyed it and would go back.   (Sue - See my reviews (4) - August, 2008)

    • Overall 6.5 - Food 8, Ambience 5, Value 8, Service 5

At first we were put at a table right under the wide screen TV which at the time was showing Funniest Home Videos. They were very accommodating when we asked to move tables. The Bollywood Movies came on later which was ok. They became extremely busy half an hour into our meal. The meals came at the right time, but it took them a while to remove our empty plates. The overall table service was ok. Food was great.   (July, 2008)
