Love the food (lots for vegetarians). Love love love the decor, bright and cheerful. Not for a quiet meal, this is for socalizing and having cocktails- some available in fishbowl glasses. The strawberry one is yummy. Downstairs is quite loud and squishy but nicer than upstairs I think, more atmosphere.   (See my reviews (3) - February, 2009)

I took my family to the Mexican Kitchen a few months ago. I wasn't sure if the kids, aged ten and thirteen would like it, but I decided to give it a go. I am delighted that we did go. The food was beautiful. Well presented, good variety, fantastic to eat. The kids had no problem choosing something. The sitting area is tight, but not a problem as well, you go there to eat and not to dance. The staff could not do enough for us even though they were run off their feet. They were always friendly and helpful and they were really nice to the kids. I cannot say the same for other restaurants. If you go early in the day you will have no problem getting a table, other wise book. It does get really busy and it can be hard to get a table, that's got to say something, Eh?

So if you like mexican food, this is the place to go. Without a doubt. It is small and cozy, but after you have eaten there, you'll be craving to go back. I was. I have been back several times now and nothing has changed. It's never been bad for me. I have enjoyed it everytime.

We had an excellent time. The only issue we have is the seating is very tight and we were on a long table down stairs that mean't you could really only hear the people sitting opposite you or beside you. There was a lot of noise from the other tables. We often take guest there from overseas or interstate and they love the food. Thankyou for the great tasting mexican food.   (February, 2008)
