      -Tiny, average and overpriced entrees

-Two overpriced wines were recommended to us; the white was marvellously bad and the red was undrinkable!

-The mains were very small. The goat was slightly tough

-The 'specials' dessert was appalling...olive oil chocolate cake with a balsamic infused mascarpone...The cake arrived as two tiny 'cat's tongues'. The chocolate cake wasn't chocolaty enough and was rather tasteless, and the balsamic mascarpone overpowered everything. .. a terrible way to cap off an already very disappointing evening.

We won't be back.   (February, 2011)

A gift package (theatre & main course) - I had checked out the menu on line and was disappointed to be handed an abreviated menu - choice of 3 mains only !! Given $41 food component of package and average cost on full menu, don't understand why full menu not offered (really fancied the steak). Told I would be charged if chose off full menu. Also felt service was non-attentive once voucher handed in. What we chose was nice but not value for money. Tables too close to each other. Disappointed.   (Chris - March, 2010)

Great food experience. Staff very efficient and welcoming.

35 wedding anniversary - would like to have had a more romantic setting, however the quality of food and quality of service made up this minor down side. Tira Mi Su was superb and highly recommended.   (See my reviews (2) - November, 2009)

The service was crisp and knowledgeable. The oysters were fresh and generous and well worth the money. I had the pork belly which was magnificent was, unfortunately served in a bowl which made resting the cutlery near impossible without them sliding completely into the jus etc. The tiramisu lived up to its reputation and is also a must. Overall an enjoyable dining experience as you might expect from a one hat. We will definitely go again   (reamonn - See my reviews (3) - August, 2009)

A wonderful evening. We were recommended to Oyster and were not disappointed. We decided to graze through-out the evening enjoying and sharing starters and entrees. The Pork Belly is To-Die-For. The Oysters are incredibly fresh and beautiful. Service was Delightful. Tiramisu was the best I've had - doesn't even compete with some i experienced in Italy itself. Will definitely go back.   (Oyster little bourke - July, 2009)

The food is great. Excellent steaks and oysters. The tiramisu is also incredible, must order. However, to the contrary of other reviews, I found that the service was not up to notch the night I visited. The staff were a bit slow and non-attentive.   (Darryl - See my reviews (2) - April, 2009)

      Oyster is a lovely restaurant

we went on a quiet monday night for my valentines present to my boyfriend. the food was beautiful and we could not eat it all, the cocktail I ordered was also beautiful. The view outside to the little old brick buildings opposite is really cosy.   (tanyah - February, 2009)

Probably one of the best meals my wife and I have experienced and our friends said it was the best meal they have had in Australia.

The service was great and the floor staff were all very professional and friendly overall a fantastic evening and we will be back in fact we tried to book again early Jan but they were closed. Highly Recommended   (Darren - See my reviews (3) - January, 2009)

Being oyster lovers my daughter and I were looking forward to this evening. We were in Melbourne for the weekend from Newcastle and having lived in Melbourne know how good the restaurants are.

It was a disappointment to be seated at a table so close to the adjoining one that conversation was able to be clearly heard and made us feel rather self concious in talking about anything of a personal nature.

We noticed that two people had just left a table in a more private area and asked if it would be possible to move. We were told no and therefore decided to vacate the restaurant and find another. We had a delightful meal at an Italian restaurant down the road.

Oyster did not have a lot of ambiance and I felt the staff did not provide the best service considering it is supposed to be a "first class" restaurant.   (December, 2008)

The food was excellent - especially the oysters (which you would hope - given the name!). There may be slightly better value out there, but you won't leave Oyster dissappointed!!   (The Fat Man - October, 2008)
