I'm afraid I had to review MIck O'Sheas in poor everything to be able to post this review but I actually can't rate it at all because when we arrived they didn't have my booking "we don't take internet bookings" and they weren't able to accomodate us so we went somewhere else. Very embarrassing!   (July, 2008)

Bar: Expensive drinks. Indifferent bar staff (when they actually deign to serve you!) Some of the bar staff don't know how to mix the most basic drinks. There is no ventilation in the pub if the doors are closed, and last night the stench of faulty sewerage pipes from the men's toilets drove us all out early in the evening when we could no longer stand it. The ceiling fans have never worked in the 10 years we have been going there (every Wednesday night), and last week the staff refused a request to switch the exhaust fans on to try to create some airflow. There is no airconditioning either. Food: OK, but I wish they wouldn't serve feta cheese, sundried tomatoes and olives with a "traditional" ploughman's platter, or smother the steak and kidney pie with cold salsa dip. (they call it tomato relish.)

The only reason we keep going there is for the live Irish music session on Wednesday evenings.   (Mandy - February, 2008)

A very disappointing experience. Going by the menu descriptions and prices Mick O'Sheas sets itself up as a quality dining experience. The reality is far from this. The service was slovenly, the food thrown together. We ordered a warm lamb salad and seafood basket type meal. The lamb was tough and basically inedible, the supposed mango dressing virtually nonexistent and the rest of the salad was composed mainly of lettuce. The fish platter featured battered fish that had been barely dunked in the fryer before being served, dried out barramundi on skewers, and half a squid that the chef hadn't even bothered finishing cutting into rings that had maybe had a sniff at the fryer before being served. When we communicated our dissatisfaction with the meal to the front of house staff they did not offer us our money back or even a complimentary drink or dessert. If you are looking for a good meal or an authentic Irish experience then don't go here. The only beer they serve that can be called 'Irish' is Kilkenny and Guiness. Sadly, the Mick used to be a great place to eat and drink several years ago. Now it is battered, run down, and as stated, most definitely not worth the cost of the menu prices.   (Q - January, 2008)
