My Delivery Experience

Every month we will showcase one of our top users and what they have to say about their delivery experience with Menulog.

If you've had a great delivery experience you want to share (along with $20 worth of Menulog orders), email us.

When and where do you use Menulog? As a bachelor living with mates – finding good home delivery is always first priority when moving into a new area, or like us - When the usual take away’s get a bit boring. So finding Menulog was like finding a goldmine! :) whatever you feel like eating – you just find a place near your house and get it delivered – even if it’s Sunday night, you’ve eaten all day and all you want is some dessert – you can just find a restaurant and order some Gelato, just Gelato, home delivered… How good’s that!? :) It’s always a fun going out and dining in a restaurant, there’s great atmosphere and talking and laughing. But as much as there is time for restaurants – There’s time for eating at home – you don’t have to ‘get ready’, you don’t have to fight traffic or find parking, you don’t have to expel any energy what-so-ever, nothing beats enjoying a brilliant meal in the comfort of your own couch, in whatever pants you happen to have on… or no pants at all… (Pants would be better though)

Favourite takeaway food? Thai – There’s about 5 good Thai restaurants around my area and 3 of them are on Menulog! :)

Least favourite takeaway food?Of all the things I have least favourites’ of – Food is not one of them :)

Favourite restaurants to order from? ‘Thai I am’, ‘Vincenzo’s Pizza and Pasta’. Menulog should try and affiliate with Outback Steakhouse (Great Western Hwy Wentworthville) and also PJ’s Café (I think they’re in Macquarie St).

My delivery tips Menulog is pretty great - you don’t really need delivery tips. I guess just make sure every time you confirm your order – that you actually confirm the order, a number or a letter could of dropped off your address and it could slow the delivery down when the driver has to call to get the details right.

What is your funniest/worst/most unusual delivery experience? Every now and then it’s cool to choose something completely different. If possible – something you can’t even pronounce, let-alone understand. :) This game inevitably leads us to Thai or Indian – which is awesome because no matter how strange they sound they all taste unbelievably great in their own way (just make sure if you don’t like something – e.g Coriander – write something in the notes field like “Hello, Please don’t include Corriander in the xxxxx… Thanks”) So while being adventurous in Indian is awesome - sometimes a surprise is thrown in – like the time, about 2 years ago, we discovered Nutella Pizza – it was just a normal day like any other, we were looking for something nice to eat but weren’t hunting anything special – when I scrolled down a menu and discovered what has since become a staple of this household – The Chocolate Nutella Pizza :) I know it’s available in a fair few cafés and pizza joints throughout all of Australia – But it feels so good being able to just log on and get one delivered right to your couch? :)

January 2010 User of the Month and 2009 Menulogger of the Year: Nic

There are places (the majority of them in fact), they I not only never knew existed, nor knew that they delivered to South Melbourne. So thanks to your excellent new idea with Menulog and my sheer and utter laziness of not wanting to leave the house, a lot of busineses have made extra customers.

Also - by co-incidence, I went to a friend's place in the same area and she was bragging about a new website she'd found and that she was going to order from a certain restaurant because it had received such good reviews - I nearly fell over when I realised it was Menulog and one of my reviews - so for any doubtful restauranteurs - the reviews do matter.

Congratulations Nic, as Menulogger of the year, you've won 10 x $5 Menulog discount vouchers!
