At One Thai Restaurant, we offer great Thai cuisine with the freshest in food and vegetables available. All dishes are prepared as needed and not pre-cooked. Our menu offers varieties of authentic Thai foods of the highest quality and perfect taste. Also, we offer dietary, gluten-free and allergic dishes to suit special needs still served with the original Thai taste. These have been the keys to success for more than ten years for us in the North Balwyn.

How your order is processed:

  1. Your order is transmitted to this restaurant the instant you submit your order,
  2. The restaurant confirms your order and advises us of the current delivery estimate,

    im usually a creature of habit but due to the quality of the dishes iv had to try just about everything on onethais menu! So far i can definitely say this restaurant has never delivered anything less than spectacularly satisfying!! im a student and so cost usually plays a big part, but iv been eating here for nearly 3 years and id never dream of giving up my onethai nights! loyal till the end!     One Thai makes the BEST special fried rice in town - the roasted grains make for an amazing flavour. I love the Seafood Hot Plate - even though it's spicier than my personal preference, the mix of ingredients and serving size is hard to pass up! The Garlic Prawns are also a favourite. This is a restaurant I keep coming back to, for eating in or taking away, even after trialling many other local Thai offerings, thanks to One Thai's consistently high quality of service and food.   (Jezwyn - See my reviews (10) - January, 2012)

    The Pad Thai was extremely sweet. Sweeter than most Thai restaurants.

    The Lab Kai was nice - with subtle flavours. The duck red curry was more vegetable red curry as there were only 4 pieces of duck meat in my order.

    Food was good, but I think the portions are not that big. As for speed, well, good thing we decided to go for pick-up instead of delivery because when we went at 18.30 - the food was not ready because One Thai thought it was 8.30!!!     The "taste" of the dishes are pretty good, however, we felt like being ripped off when all we found in the "Gang Ped Yang (Roast Duck Curry)" that we ordered only had 3 "tiny"pieces of duck meat... the rest was vegetable pieces -- it looked more like a vegetarian curry rather than a duck curry!!

    We might still try other dishes next time...but NOT again duck curry   (March, 2009)

    We had tried one thai's food once before tonight and unfortunately will not be trying it again after finding a steel nail rod in one of our dishes. Not only as a breast feeding mum was I greatly concerned but as a consumer i think it is an extremely poor reflection on this restaurant's hygeine. The lack of care in food preparation is totally unacceptable. I will reporting this matter further. How poor!   (Caroline - February, 2009)

    The food had obviously been prepared at the time when I placed the order, with disregard for what later time that I had specifed as when I would pick it up; - it was nearly room temperature by then. They don't even have a warmer to keep stuff warm; - it was just left on the counter waiting for pick-up.   (Stewart - December, 2008)

    Lovely place and lovely food. I had “Pandan Chicken” as entree and it’s the best ever, but “Panang Curry” is not that hot as I expected. They don’t serve wine so make sure you take a bottle of wine...

    This is my favourite place for Thai - great food and great value.

      Have been to One Thai on a few occasions now over the past 6 months and my wife and I have been very impressed with all aspects of the restaurant. It is a family owned affair with the kids doing the waiting in a very friendly and mostly professional way. The Dad is a lovely guy and goes out of his way to check and make sure that the customers are having a good dining experience. The ambience is overall very good and the food is as good as I've had in Thailand.   (YDB - March, 2007)
