Patricias - outdated decor - overpriced menu - asked for a plain steak as I didn't fancy the oxtail accompaniement and was told it was not possible. Needless to say we paid for our drinks and left. Give it a miss. (beach club - See my reviews (9) - February, 2009) Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10
excellent food and service best restaurant i have been to for a long time down south (September, 2008) Overall 1.3 - Food 1, Ambience 1, Value 1, Service 2
It was quite possibly the most revolting meal i have ever had. If i had served this to my husband he would have thought i was kidding, the meat (asked for medium) was so rare blood ran from it, lumpy mash and olives that when served in a meal that costs $30 should really be pitted. My kids weren't impressed with their $11 kids meal of 2 rubbery chicken tenders and birds eye frozen oven wedges. I would not in a pink fit return to this restaurant or advise others to attend it. (Georgia - September, 2008) Overall 4.5 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 1, Service 1
I was disgusted with the service and attitude of staff, especially the woman who appeared to be the manager. It is a shame because the food and surroundings were nice. I will never return. (July, 2008) Overall 7.8 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 8, Service 5
food was fantastic and good value for money all mains being under $30 dollars. Prices are competitive for similar style restaurants and we were very happy although the service was quite lacking, and unfortunately wasn't fantastic. The food especially the venisonwith quandong sauce, duck dishes were fantastic and the choc fondant yumo. A good experience and would be improved upon if the service was tightened. Will be back. Side vegetables were incorporated into the meal for free which was fantastic. We dine in Adelaide regularly and found the prices to be very competitive if slightly cheaper good work just the service needs improvement. Very disappointing experience. We went for a family lunch (8 eating, 2 only stopping in for drinks), and went in with really high expectations. The venue was great - plenty of space to spread out and talk. The service, though, was so bad that there was no way I'd consider going back - and there was three front-of-house staff that I saw and 6 tables (and we were by far the largest table - 2 others were couples and there was a few groups of 4) - so they weren't flat out, which might have excused the shoddy service. We were only offered drinks once - not long after we arrived. The food was good, but as I tried to salt my meal, the top of the salt shaker fell off - by the time I managed to get some attention from the waiting staff, everyone else had well and truly finished their meal, so I didn't choose to order anything else, despite not being able to eat much of my meal at all. The waitress I told looked at me blankly, said 'Oh,' and cleared my plate. When we got the bill, my meal was on there - we split the bill between the 8 of us eating and I went to the counter to see the woman who looked like the floor manager. I also took the salt shaker. Once I told her what had happened, she took the salt shaker from my hand, fiddled with it a bit, and said, 'Yeah, the top screw had come loose' ... and passed it back to me!!! Honestly, I should have refused to pay for my meal - but because of the situation (family meal, etc) I didn't want to make a fuss. And - yes, cold plates for all meals (including pasta), no offers of desserts, didn't have stuff available listed on the menu ... (Extremely bad service - July, 2008) Overall 7.5 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 6, Service 8
Was pleasantly supprised by experience at this resturant. Perhaps slightly understaffed, the meal was very good although serving size of the main was sbit small (you had to purchase sides which area expensive - may as well just get the over priced deserts (we did)). Lunch menu is avaliable at dinner so you can order from a good varety of options. Entree, 2 mains, 2 deserts, a bottle of Rose and Johnny Black was just over $104. ONLY let down was main meal size. We were a little disappointed with several things.1) Beer was served warm. 2) Plates cold, not great for Pasta. 3) Although it had been good until then, after our main course we had no service, no offer of coffee or dessert. 4) The booking was not in our surname and even my christian name was so muddled it was hardly readable!
