Plume Chinese Restaurant

  A parrty of 5 of us attened Plumes for New year eve 2010 celebrations, we were shown our table by the waiter incharge of our section. It was not a busy night but the waiter was absent for most of the evening, we were served by a (student) young waiter who was very competent.We choose san chow bow which was tasty, sesame prawns, Chinese broccoli, chilli prawns, sheswan chicken and sweet and sour pork. The food was very tasty and good serves. We also had 2 serves of fried rice at $35.00 way over priced, and

  two bottles of wine. If you are wanting a cheap night out with some Chinese food then give Plumes a miss.

  The food is OK not brilliant but very very expensive. If you are looking for service then dont waste your time at Plumes. The waiter was happy to bring us the bill which was the only other time we saw him. English is not their best or first language so make sure you point to menu items to get the correct meals. The decor is still from the Barbarinos the rib resturant days (well over 15 years ago) so a spruce up is badly needed. The air con was also not working properly and for a 40c day it was very uncomforable or as we suspect it was not turned up.

  I do not reccomend Plumes, over priced and poor service dose not justify the extrodinary prices charged.

  There was too much salt and we had an acute reaction to MSG

  Not a menu for diabetics.

  Service by the young waiters was excellent, but the Manager was a little abrupt   (remedy - November, 2010)

  Terrible experience at Plumes. The food was ok although too expensive for the quality, but the service was terrible. They were rude & arrogant, a feeling our whole table of ten certaintly felt. Would never go back.   (Matt - October, 2010)

  This was our second time at Plume. we had mixed feelings after our first visit - we were impressed by the professional service and undecided on the food. Our second visit confirmed that the service at Plume is excellent, the food average and the price a little steep for the quality.   (February, 2010)

  Good restaurant for family and couple, but comparing the taste of food with the price. I can say it is overprice. I have tired much delicious Chinese food anywhere else.

  The food was very good and much better than at other yum cha places I have been to. The service wasnt brilliant. We were a table of two and tucked away in the corner so we missed out on a lot of what was on offer. Having said that, I will definately go back.   (June, 2008)

  This was my first time at Plume, but I and all of my table enjoyed it very much, and I will return. My only criticism would be of the disabled toilet area which is a bit too much of a storage area.   (March, 2008)

  The toilets look as though the floor hasn't been vacuumed for days, dust and bits of paper all around. Waiter argued with a member of our party!!! Not the way a waiter should behave.   (See my reviews (5) - November, 2007)
