Excellent ~ Great ambience, great food & great service ~ What a terrific dinning pleasure. The food, especially the curry is exceptional ~ heat and full of spice you can actually taste. Red Spice Road is wonderful! The best Asian food I have ever, ever eaten. The restaurant is stylishly decorated, with the giant red lantern taking pride of place. We were seated on one end of a large curved table (an interesting experience in itself), and were seated on stools which were surprisingly comfortable. Our party of 8 each ordered one main and we had rice for everyone. The food was absolutely delightful, with the Pork Belly any Lamb Shoulder true highlights. At the end of our meal we were all well fed, but still had a lot of food left over - the portions are more than generous, and we probably could have done with 4 or 6 main dishes for the 8 of us, but then we would have lacked the variety. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the food. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and never was a glass empty. We will definitely be coming back to Red Spice Road so we can try the rest of their fantastic dishes.   (Shelley - See my reviews (21) - April, 2010)

Enormous portions for main courses, delicious flavour combinations. A little noisy, but generally excellent service and ambiance. Any of the meals with betel leaf are a real treat, as are the baby doughnuts for dessert.   (flossyfizzdog - See my reviews (24) - April, 2010)

Firstly, we must comment on the pork belly (because everyone else has!) - it was lovely, even though the sauce was a little sweet for our tastes. If you don't have a sweet tooth, don't spoon extra sauce over it. The other dishes were either hit or miss. The lamb ribs for entree were sensational and were voted by all as the dish of the night. The chilli pork prawns and chicken dumpings were also a hit. Ones that we will give a miss if we return are the beef cheeks and the duck. Both were magnificently succulent but lacked flavour. The ambience and the staff are also great. Will we rush back? Probably not......but we'll definitely be having lamb ribs if we do!   (G and K - See my reviews (19) - March, 2010)

Very nice place hidden away in McKillop street. I came for dinner and opted for the dinner tasting menu. SUPERB! Fresh and tasty! I LOVE their pork belly! Cruchy outside and so so soft on the inside! It smells a little funky but taste awesome! Also enjoyed their quail and yummy passionfruit and coconut dessert. Some of their other dishes had too much lemon grass and coconut milk for my liking (each to their own). The tables are set under a HUGE red latern, very nice touch. I don't really like their tables though. If you sit in the part under the latern you have to reach a little bit to get something from the other person or have to speak a little louder than usual.
