Arguably the best dining experience I've had, fully living up to my expectations. The food was sensational - creative combinations of ingredients that, without exception, worked beautifully. The emphasis here is on quality, not quantity, but the four of us did not leave feeling hungry. Service was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Would go again without hesitation.   (August, 2010)

Had a lovely meal and the service was top notch. Only complaint was that it was a really hot night and their aircon didn't seem to be working. Will definitely recommend this one to friends though.   (See my reviews (2) - January, 2010)

A good night out.The food and service were great. My only comment would be that we were offered bread and olives whilst looking at menu but did not realise they weren't complimentary . Usually in a restaurant of this calibre, they would be provided free.   (August, 2009)

The food and service were good. Wines a little expensive.   (August, 2009)

There were 8 of us so we were forced to eat from a set menu. The vegetarian option was poor, with the entree best described as a soft hash brown with feta. Other entrees and mains were ok but desserts were a bit ordinary. Nice touch with the appetizers and between-course granita. Service was very slow. Wine and bread and food took a long time to be delivered to the table.   (Marcel Tapioca - July, 2009)

we ( four of us ) had an exquisite dining experience at the Red Cabbage. The only down side was I thought the wine list too pricey. The staff are courteous and knowledgeable   (May, 2009)

Portions were rather small. But quality of food was good. Went at 6pm so there was no crowd and service was good. Had Oysters with Spanish chorizo ( a type of sausage)   (April, 2009)

ALWAYS FANTASTIC!!   (See my reviews (4) - January, 2009)

    • Overall 5.5 - Food 6, Ambience 6, Value 6, Service 4

One of our starters (oysters on pea puree) was divine, the other (fennel salad) very average. Our mains were disappointing, basically because the description of the dish (fruit de mer) did not describe the content of the plate. It was an (overcooked) piece of salmon trout in a sea of acidity (the marinade of the white fish) and a lost deep fried oyster that did not make any sense to the (very incoherent) dish. Good ingredients that did not add up to a great meal, not helped much by the fact the food was served on dirty plates (the rims had fingerprints all over and there was fine grit to be felt). Service was sometimes good (the young man) and sometimes lackluster (the women). In all a disappointing night at what should have been (that is, what the restaurant aims for) a first class experience.   (barbertje - See my reviews (4) - January, 2009)

Some really interesting food - possibly a bit faddish in places. My boyfriends beef dish was supposed to include pork crackingl, but it was missing when the plate arrived. THe duck was excellent, as were the amuse bouche and palate cleanser. The mini desserts was a great way to try a bti of each dessert.   (Kathryn - See my reviews (4) - October, 2008)

Our first experience at this restaurant tonight and definitely not our last. Having read the reviews I was keen to book for a special occasion. The service was excellent and the food exceptional and the whole experience was one to remember.

We have patronized many of Perth's restaurants and Red Cabbage would be in the top three.   (See my reviews (3) - October, 2008)

Food was very good, but not as good size servings as the first time we ate here about Jan 08 (similar type of dishes ordered). Service was slower and also one of our side orders was just completely forgotten.   (See my reviews (4) - September, 2008)

All I can say is that the food and service was marvellous. It was a fantastic experience having dined at this restaurant. I will seriously recommend the oysters in lobster bisque! It's heaven for oysters lover. My partner and I then got the scallops for first course, it's divine. The scallops were full of juices with some green noodles served with it. The noodles were very unique, I had never tasted something like that! Next we have the catch of the day which is the Tazmanian Trout with lobster tempura. The fish was extremely fresh and the lobster simply just MELTS in your mouth. Both my partner and I both gave each other a henvenly look when we ate the lobster tempura. For deserts, we had the red cabbage miniature deserts. The bread and butter pudding was delicious and the fudge cake was very rich. If you're a dark chocolate lover, you're love it. Overall, I will rate very highly for this restaurant, will definitely return again even though the waiting time might be a little long, its worth while.   (August, 2008)

Top class dining at it's best, excellent food, helpful friendly staff combined with the romantic intimate atmosphere make this restaurant a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We had a lengthy wait between courses, however, we were offered complimentory snacks and the food was definately worth the wait. Thoroughly recommend the Red Cabbage.   (Al - August, 2008)

Unable to understand menu. Waitress couldn't answer all questions. Hip hop music playing. Over heated doughy bread rolls. Presentation of food all over the place. Meal only warm, had to eat it in a hurry before it went stone cold. Not what I call value for money and will not return.   (Not returning - June, 2008)

Fantastic! Went here for my birthday. We received complimentary fish cakes, and complimentary grapefruit granita inbetween meals! Was quite impressed, it's been a while since I've been to a restaurant with that kind of thing. Entree was Nero Linguine with scallops, the scallops were cooked to perfection. Lovely flavours. Main I had Venison with Venison Pate & a tart (I forget what was in it). Was not to my taste but was cooked how I like it (medium). The minituare desserts were to die for, without being too much... though we shared it between the two of us. Boyfriend loved his dishes of Wagyu Beef for main & I forget what he had for entree... will definitely be back when we can afford it again!   (Amy - See my reviews (4) - June, 2008)
