Republica’s meaning “for the people”, is Melbourne’s only bar and restaurant on the sand. The Republica Courtyard holds up to 900 people and it's an ironically St Kilda way to spend time relaxing with tapas, cocktails and a great wine list.

The unique and versatile space of Republica is built to cater for a variety of events from weddings to parties, corporate functions and private dining experiences.

Service was good. My husband who likes fairly plain food struggled to find food that he liked & consequently left half of his food on his plate. We were disappointed with the noisy atmosphere - it was far more a bar type experience than a restaurant experience especially for the price.   (March, 2011)

Great day out! Perfect for a lazy day by the beach with cocktails in hand or romantic dinner. Have been 3 or 4 times and will be back again. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always great.   (Betty Lander - June, 2010)

We ate outside, almost on the sand. Loved that. There were five of us (4 generations). My 97 year old mother was the oldest and my three year old grandson was the youngest. There was great food for all our tastes, including pizza, fish and chips and great desserts.

I am in Scotland at the moment and have just spoken to my daughter Stassia and she has just had a pizza at your restaurant. She said it was the best she had ever had and it even had lobster on it. She also said the place was amazing. So 10 out of 10 for everything. Nancy Ioannou   (Stassia - June, 2009)
