      Food was excellent but service terrible. We had to wait 20 mins for coffee and only after we had to ask 4 times. I was told to get a second coffee I would have to wait another 15 minutes. However food was good and there was a good variety. This is the second time I have been here - First time for dinner where once again service was terrible - No one offered us drinks for 30 minutes and we walked out but decided to give it another chance. It is a shame really because if the service was better I would actually recommend this to my friends.   (On3 restaruant, Sofitel Gold Coast - See my reviews (2) - April, 2009)

      We had the $35 2 course lunch special - and it was special! The menu is seafood based (not so good for my other half but I loved it!). After being seated and poured large glasses of water, we ordered then recieved our choice of a bread selection, including olive, baguette or another. We then had a complimentary salmon mousse, with roe and marinated cucumber strips to whet our appetite. My husband had the Waygu beef Carpaccio ( he did not realise this was raw meat till it arrived!) - thinly slice raw meat and I had the Lobster Tortellini - it was fantastic! For main, I had seared salmon on a bed of leek, with white asparagus, and a zucchini flower stuffed with a seafood based mousse - to die for! My husband went the vegetarian option for main and was not disappointed with his mushrrom and mash pie. The serving sizes are just nice, and everthing is very well presented. The service was excellent. It was quite busy for a weekday. There is also a 3 course special for $45 - we saw another couple have the the cheese board - which is wheeled out on a trolley and hand cut before your eyes and a chocolate dessert - which looked amazing!   (See my reviews (15) - November, 2008)

    Daniel Ridgeway - Daniel brings experience well beyond his years, having worked under some of the world's leading chefs in London, Vancouver and most recently at the revered 'three, one, two' in Melbourne. This creative young master has moved back to Queensland as Chef de Cuisine of Room81. Already he is making quite a name for himself both with food critics and diners alike with his fine flare featuring simple pure flavours and local produce in 'smart dining' concept.
