We went on Sunday to celebrate a birthday. From the minute we were seated we knew we were in good hands. The waiter was fabulous, we shared a few jokes, he offered advice re wine and dishes and then he left us be to enjoy our superb selections. Servings always look small at first glance but we actually couldn't finish it all. Mixed plate for entrees then main course Saag Aloo / Fish Tikka/RoganJosh/Garlic Naan/Raita - divine! Having mentioned that it was a birthday he and the chef came out singing HB with a generous slice of Mango Cheeseckae and cream complete with a sparkler on top! food was good however the amount of chicken in the dish was small and as was the lamb, prawn dish at $22 had 4 small prawns in it....my main gripe was the Royal india rice was $10 for a large serve....this was barely enough for 2 people, so we ordered another dish.....so it cost $20 for the rice alone!!!...this is not good value....you don't mind paying for a meat dish but not that huge amount for rice....would not go back and would definitely not recommend....I know of 3 other indian restaurants that are far better in value...   (david - May, 2008)

Service was fantastic. A waiter served our biryani in each of our plates, they were always watching to see if assistance was needed and if so were alsways there. water was refilled constantly if the glass looked somewhat empty.

The food was magnifcent and to die for. again, the lamb biryani was delicious, soft lamb, mixed with veg, spices and nuts, ive never tasted anything so devine. The garlic naan was cooked perfectly, not chewy like some other places ive tried, not overloaded with garlic, great portions and crunchy. Just the way i like it. the curries were great, i love my spicy and hot food and these were tender and spicy. I have told so many poeple about the experience and has become my favourite indian. It is worth the money, i agree with paying an ectra few dollars for Royal India, in comparision to others, but get great food, service, and a real Indian experience.   (browneyes - See my reviews (2) - October, 2007)

The greatest indian restaurant experinece i have had so far. we went as a group of 4, ordered 3 curries, one dahl, i garlic naan( best ive had, thin, crunchy, tasty. it was definitely not chewy like other naans ive had at other restaurants). we also order one small royal india pilau and one lamb biryani. What can i say, the food was amazing, full of tast, our dishes were on the hot side, defiinelty a taste bud pleaser. however, what can i say about the biryani. to die for!!! the four of us couldnt get enough. so great that we ended up buying a second large dish of it.

The service was also great, the waiter served the biryani on each of our plates. staff were freindly, welcoming and ambience was magnificent. For a thursday night, the restaurant was booked out. again, i was impressed and bound to return. i have found a favourite place and a keeper.   (browneyes - See my reviews (2) - October, 2007)
