I picked this place for our 4 year weding anniversary. Its was warm and cosy on the waterfront considering the weather outside. Lorrenzo, our waiter was attentive, extremely polite and very helpful with the menu. Food was spectacular. We had the scallops and fresh oysters followed by the Beef tenderloin and blue eye cod fillet. The midweek $39 2 course special is the best. Excellent all round. We'll be planning our functions for the rest of the year at Sanders.

The location was lovely by the water with easy parking. The food was acceptable for the price but took some time to arrive. The waiters whilst friendly when taking orders were not attentive at any other stage. The addition of a surcharge definitely influenced my rating for value for money.   (ellen - January, 2010)

A very lovely location by the water with great food and easy parking. The fixed price 3 courses was good value although be prepared on having to spend extra for sides as the main meal does not come with any greens.   (January, 2009)

Great location - simply spectacular & the food was well above average. Good albeit short winelist & very friendly, reasonably prompt service. Was not happy though to pay $11 for a litre of sparkling water that sells for $2.90 at our local green grocer.   (3WheeledUte - October, 2008)

The setting is beautiful and the food was good. However, our meals took nearly an hour to arrive. Due to the wait, we ended up spending about $16 on bread. In a restaurant where the mains cost >$30 it is my firm belief that bread should be free of charge particulary when the main meals take a significant time to arrive.   (September, 2008)

We took an overseas guest for dinner since we knew the location was great. Haven't been in many years so couldn't remember what we ate last time! Menu was limited to 6 items per course but was appropriate to size of venue and staffing. Service was excellent without being obtrusive. Very nice people. Definitely the new decor is fantastic and much improved with carpet and glass barriers to keep wind and noise to a minimum. Entrees were king prawns, calamari and garlic bread and all were fantastic. Mains were grilled king prawns, battered fish and ocean trout + salmon pasta. The grilled prawns weren't to my taste but my friends raved about their dishes. Deserts of brulee and champagne chiboust with rhubarb went down a treat. All in all a fantastic evening. Will return!   (snaphappy - November, 2007)

I heard Sanders had made some changes so I headed down for a lunch with a mate last Friday. Finally they have closed it in all in with frameless glass and put some new flooring in!! There's a few new staff floating around and there's definitley a buzz around the place. The food is the same. great!! Also met one of the partners and had drink with him. NIce bloke and its always nice to get bought a drink and a chat!! Overall, great changes and will be heading bcak more often.... Well done guys and all the best!!!! Like everyone else I read the feedback on Sanders and wondered who would ever eat there. We went down for a friends wedding and may I say it was the best function I have ever been to. Food was sensational, hot, fresh and on time. The staff were attentive and friendly and the view is amazing. You truley sit on top of the water with views up and down the harbour. I ended up talking to the manager who explained that Sanders after 12 years had new owners and they had just finished a total refit of the restaurant. All I can say is dont believe the old, live with the new as this place is really at the curring edge of modern waterfornt dining. I will be back and as I am getting married next year it is on the top of my list for venues.   (John Barker - November, 2007)

The food was great as was the service. The location is fantastic. The duck was supposed to be served with figs but they were out of stock so it came with cherries, still very nice but we should have been told before the meal was prepared. Your oysters are too expensivie but tasted fabulous.   (fine diner - November, 2007)

Beautiful food in a wonderful setting. I had a girls prewedding lunch their with my immediate family. The restaurant was very busy and the staff very slow to take our order and the food arrived very late. In saying that the staff were very apologetic and tried as humanely possible to look after us adequately even while they were so busy and possibly short staffed. A Complementary bottle of wine arrived to apologise for the delay. All things considered a lovely dining experience and a terrific waiter who worked very hard to keep us happy under difficult circumstances. I would still highly recommend Sanders because the food is well worth the visit and so is the scenic location.   (munchometre - See my reviews (2) - November, 2007)

My wife and I had a gorgeous meal in sumptuous surrounds here on the water.We had been to the restaurant in the past and were happy enough to try it again. Wow, what an improvement! The floor boards with the admittedly charming view of the harbour through the cracks have been repalced with carpet and the change in both temperature and wind is amazing. No more drafts. I'm told by the manager that there will be glass in place around the restaurant to chest height very shortly.The view was superb over the harbour and the food and service left nothing to be desired. Next time we'll catch the Jetcat across to cabarita wharf rather than drive. That'll mean I can have a glass as well.   (October, 2007)
