"My wife and I have visited Sassafras Creek around 6 times now and each time the service and food have been impeccable. We've found the wait staff friendly without being overly so (i.e. we've never got frustrated that they've overstayed their welcome). The menu changes quite regularly and always has a good range. I tend to order steak or lamb and it is always cooked as requested (medium rare -.." more reviews

Group booking policy: Large bookings work better with a set menu or alternate drop menu. We happily cater to special requests and will tailor a package for you.
Group cancellation policy: Sassafras does not normally ask for a deposit, however large group functions should be paid in full by the time of the function. Once numbers and menus have been finalized approximately one week prior to an event that is generally the number that will served and charged for. Of course we make every attempt at flexibility. Please speak to our functions manager for details or inquiries.

Overall 4 - Food 3, Ambience 6, Value 3, Service 4
We went to this rest on sunday early jan 2011 it looked nice and had a band playing good backgound music, it did not look that busy for lunch as it was about 11.30 so between lunch / breakfast really. cut along story short the staff were not pleasent and told us all the tables were booked although its was nearly empty we were going to leave but i think the owner spoke to the two rude waittresses and put a table outside for us. We ordered the coconut chicken on bok choy with steamed jasmine rice and peanut sauce sounded very nice! although 25 dollars you don't mind if it's good, what came out resembled nothing like the dish they advertised it was small oiley the chicken ok but on sort of fryed celery and red cabbage the rice small and oiley and the whole thing covered with this pink pepercorns (lots) runny cream sauce not at all the dish we had asked for and very substanded we mentioned to the waitress who told the chef she came back and said it was bok choy I dont know about the sauce??? poor service and bad food (annie - January, 2011) Overall 9.5 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 8, Service 10
My wife and I have visited Sassafras Creek around 6 times now and each time the service and food have been impeccable. We have been to Sassafras many times and as always; we have enjoyed our meal very much. Bob Raynsford (June, 2008) Overall 4.5 - Food 2, Ambience 7, Value 2, Service 7
The perception of this restaurant is classy yet quaint, and the service is friendly and efficient. In fact, we were quite looking forward to our dining experience upon arrival. However, thanks to the kitchen, we will not dine at this restaurant again. Aside from the meals being rushed to our table, both our entrees and mains were missing key ingredients described on the menu, leaving them bland and tasteless. We passed on desert, as we could not leave fast enough, and were utterly dismayed at having to pay the bill. Thank goodness for the BYO bottkle of wine! (DW - See my reviews (2) - May, 2008) Overall 3.8 - Food 4, Ambience 4, Value 4, Service 3
I found that the service was very poor. I asked for water 3 times and did not receive. It is something that should be put on the table asap after request. The building was very modern and cold. For a village cafe it wasn't what I was expecting. I was watching the kithchens and noticed that a lot of the food came in pre packaged and portioned. The menu had no original dishes, and i could make all of them at home easily. I also found the coffee to be bitter and watery. Cold dishwater. Overall i was very dispointed. (Jaqui Taylor - See my reviews (2) - January, 2008) Overall 7 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 7, Service 5
It was pleasant overall, the service was not tip top. I did order coffee on two occasions and still did not receive same. I did make a complaint about this matter the other thing was the lack of appealing selections on the sweets menu and because of this we declined to have sweets. I would probably give it another try as it did have things going for it, however i would like to see an improvement in the service department. (January, 2008) |
