Smokey Joes has to be without doubt the best kept secret in town, I am moved to write this review after what can only be called a religious experience involving a fillet Mignon. to say it was tender is like saying Hitler was a bit anti Semitic, the prosciutto brought just the right hint of saltiness and the piquant mustard sauce balanced the gentle smoky char to perfection, I ordered mine medium rare and got it, well rested and juicy with just a maidens blush to the centre. never had better bravo Joe. check the specials board its worth it.   (BigSteve - March, 2011)

I went to smokey joe's last weekend with 3 friends, one of whom was american, so we were hoping that the food was authentic. Well, we were absolutely blown away! They not only do cajun/creole as good or better than I've had in New Orleans, but they do real mexican and great steaks too! We chatted with the chef/owner and found that he makes everything from scratch, from the andouille in the gumbo and red beans and rice, to the bbq sauce and rubs for the ribs. The place is a bit small, and can be noisy when its busy, but the food is so fresh and tastyyou hardly notice! Its my new favourite!   (mike - July, 2010)
