The Entree dishes seemed satisfactory. There were 8 of us,some ordered individual entrees & others shared. After a 2 HOUR wait for our mains, we were no longer hungry or looking forward to it. I ordered the fettucine with squid which I could only eat half of. I poked around in it to find that alot of the pasta was stuck together similar in ways that last night's pasta is refrigerated in a container. Squid was like rubber. My partner ordered the fish which he said tasted like local 'fish n chips'. My friend ordered the veal which she said was quite simply 'revolting'. Potatoes werent cooked, the veal tasted like microwaved tv dinner meat and the wine sauce tasted like cream and water. Bad quality food.

During our long wait for mains, we cleared our own table after entrees because the staff seemed oblivious to our existence (despite our table being in the pathway of the kitchen) & when asked for new cutlery, the waitress stood at the end of the table & HANDED it to each of us.To top off the evening's experience, we were faced with even more disappointment when my poor partner (who recently had a knee operation) discovered that the disabled toilets were located UPSTAIRS! This was my first time to Soprano's & being located in a wonderful suburb like South Perth perhaps my expectations were already sitting quite high. Or (judging by the customer service) perhaps I was delusional in thinking I was in a restaurant and not an upstate roadhouse. The 8 of us will not be returning!   (filadee - September, 2010)

We had a celebratory dinner at Sopranos tonight and I was beyond disappointed. Despite having booked ahead, we (4 of us) were ushered to a table in the courtyard beneath a nice heater.

Despite the heater running out of gas, we persevered in the lively 12c temperature. Our first order of drinks...3 stellas and a Capone Toblerone (cocktail) was received by a Gargamel-esque character who did not fit the friendly description of staff mentioned in the other reviews I've now read. My partner seemed to be struggling with the Toblerone so I gallantly offered to have a sip. I immediately tasted of off milk, though my friend who assured me the Soprano's was a fine restaurant was keen to taste it. Having established the problem, he called the nearest waitress. As my friend began to tell her about the drink, she cut him off at the pass..."The milk is off". Did they know this before? It seemed so!

With the feeling of curdling milk in my belly I found my pizza very average and could name many other better options in Perth.

My friend ordered the lamb shanks, which I admit were cooked well, but the dish lacked flavor...Call me spoilt by good home cooking, but I expect better than average if I'm out paying for it.

As we left to pay, no further apology was made however they were gracious enough to take the cost of the first off milk Toblerone from the bill, but charged us for the replacement (despite my partner saying she didn't want another one).

I'm sure many devotees may be outraged to hear this review, but it's what happened to us...don't believe the hype!   (Jazzkat_19 - July, 2010)

Excellent food. They don't try to do anything fancy, just good fresh food. Great wood fired pizzas, nice fresh salads and good pasta. It's BYO and licensed, which I prefer and although we usually BYO, the owner is interested in wine and the wine list is excellent and reasonably priced. They also have draught beer and a good range of liqueurs including Molinari sambucca which is the best and the sure sign of a top Italian. Highly recommended.   (April, 2010)

I went to Soprano's two days ago and am already salivating about my next visit. A hidden gem in south Perth that probably misses out due to its location. The food was great and the service was exceptional. The chef coming out to talk afterwards was something seldom seen in a restaurant of this price range and was a really nice touch. The owner was extremely nice, relaxed and open and we felt very comfortable. A great restaurant and one I will highly recommend.   (Mickey - May, 2009)

I have visited Sopranos Pizza Ristorante many times and have successfully recommended it as the restaurant of choice to my friends. The staff are obliging and professional and the cuisine is always of a high standard. Add to the fact that this is also a BYO restaurant and you have an eatery that is hard to beat!   (Robin Teese - See my reviews (2) - September, 2007)
