I am always impressed when dining at Sun Wah - whether it'sduring the week or the weekend for dinner. The menu is absolutely divine with really stunning and creative dishes. I really love their new winter dish that ginger pear seared scallops with pork belly and their soft crab shell. Their steam fish is really fresh and have tasty desserts. The food served here is polished and refined, clever and creative. It is also very tasty and leaves you wanting to come back and try everything on the menu. Worth it! (Chinese to die for - July, 2010) Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 10, Service 10
I would like to comment and how wonderful our dinner was at Sun Wah last night. This has certaintly different to the norm of a chinese restaurant. Their menus seem to be one of a kind with innovative dishes all round. And their service was impeccable could not fault. We ate here with a group of 4 and ordered from their extensive wine list and they recommended the right wines with the dishes. We started with the entree platter which was an assortment of dim sum and salt & pepper calamari. We also ordered the ginger pear scallops and the mini prawn hot pot. So beautifuyl presented. For maiins, we had the peking duck, which they served for us and terriyaki eye fillet along with thier coconut spiced chilli chicken. They were cooked perfectly and the flavours just complemented each other. Now dessert, Sun Wah seem to beat the other chinese restaurants for this - very different. We chose the 5 spice sticky date, schuian pepper chocolate pudding and the jasmine tea baileys cheesecake. These were all fantastic and the perfect end to our dinner. This will now be our regular place to go. (Innovative and different - July, 2010) Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10
Had a great experience at Sun Wah. Fantastic service, great food and atmosphere. They have some great specials. We only ordered from their specials blackboard. We had the ginger pear scallops with pork belly to start with. Then the steamed barramundi with fun gor dumpling in a broth. We finished off with the jasmin tea creme brule with spiced lychees. The whole night was like you would expect in a 5 star fine dining hotel and was so memorable and can't wait to go back. Well done Sun Wah. (Great Chinese - June, 2010) Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10
Sun Wah is that hidden gem - that just wants you going back for more. Having just dined here for Valentine's Day I like to say it is the best Chinese I have ever tasted. The place was set up nicely with candles for our romantic dinner. We were treated to a complimentary glass of sparkling on arrival. We selected one of their valentine's set menus - the plated menu which is quite rare for a Chinese restaurant. Chef's canapes came first - it was yum yum then our soup - we selected the shredded duckling soup. For entree i selected the crispy prawn parcels and my partner ordered the steamed prawn dumplings. it was really yum cha style. For mains, we selected the terriyaki eye fillet and the deep of the sea. Absolutely perfect - beef was lovely and tender and the seafood just perfect. Then dessert the chocolate won tons were to die for and the mango pudding was soft and we just wanted more. The staff were fantastic. They were always attending to us and filling our water glasses. Couldn't recommend a better place for that special dinner or just for your everyday meal. Just brilliant and very good value for money. (Best Chinese Ever - February, 2010) Overall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10
We dined here on Saturday night and wanted to say what a wonderful experience it was at Sun Wah. We were greeted by friendly and professional waiters. First of all, our glasses were filled with water and napkins laid on our laps. This is the real fine dining experience. We started off with the entree platter - it was an assortment of yum cha delights and salt & pepper calamari. absolutely delicious. then we tried the soft shell crab - this melted in our mouths with the wasabi mayannoise. Then came the mains, we selected the schuian spiced duck with seared scallops - nice and tender and spicy. We also selected the stuffed chicken. This is definitely a signature dish never had it anywhere else. Now for dessert we had the chocolate won tons - this was heaven. The presentation of all their dishes was really topped class and it was like we were in a 5 star hotel. So if you want to try the best Chinese ever without the price tag, give this place a try but I suggest you book as this place really gets full fast and plenty of people waiting at the foyer for a table. Can't wait to go back probably next Saturday. (Don't miss the best Chinese ever... - January, 2010) Overall 8.5 - Food 8, Ambience 9, Value 8, Service 9
the service was great. the food was really good. the staff were all lovely. it was very relaxed and we all will be returning. thank you (August, 2009) Overall 9.3 - Food 10, Ambience 8, Value 9, Service 10
We love coming here. Our last visit just last night. Sun Wah's dishes are creative and they offer a difference to the standard Chinese food you get elsewhere. They offer very innovative dishes, blackboard specials and superb desserts like your standard banana fritters. I would recommend this to anyone to try them out.....I love their Crispy Spatchcock. Don't take my word for it try them out for yourself. (Bloody Awesome! - June, 2009) Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 10, Service 10
We visited Sun Wah for Mother's Day. The service was fantastic where the staff were always filling our water glasses without us asking. The Food was awesome. They have many innovative dishes not seen in other Chinese restaurants. We tried the Schuian Spiced Duck with seared scallops and the Oven-roasted Spatchcock. 5 Star Quality. For Dessert we had the Chocolate Won Tons - this simply melted in our mouth. Give them a try, trust you won't be disappointed. Well Done Sun Wah (Superb Chinese - See my reviews (2) - May, 2009) Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 10, Service 10
We had a great Valentine's Day dinner at Sun Wah! Overall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10
For NYE we dine here, it was definitely an experience to remember. You don't usually associate top quality and service with chinese cuisine, but that is why we experienced. Coz of the special occasion, we had to select one of the set menus. Everything was so top class, food was cooked to perfection, presentation has 5 class, timing was great and the service was awesome. Plus their prices are very affordable for what you get. The manager said they were short staff but they seem to do a great job. Couldn't tell as everything was perfect and they ask us to recommend others and put a review in. Yum Yum can't wait for our next occasion. (5 star experience - January, 2009) |
