  • The word "cafe", says it all, a quick bite or a leisurely lunch, Pasta, Caesar Salad or Cake and Coffee. We use as much local produce as we can. All cakes, ice creams, pastries and breads are cooked in-house, to ensure the freshest experience. Open for breakfast every day and for morning tea, lunch, or afternoon tea from Thursday to Monday.

      The only comment on the meal. Two of our four at our table mentioned to the waiter that their fish was a little overcooked. regards Mal Garden   (See my reviews (2) - January, 2008)

      Dining at Eleonore's at Chateau Yering was an extremely pleasant experience. Every course was a mouthwatering delight. My partner and I savoured every delicious mouthful, and we will definitely be back.   (A culinary delight - See my reviews (4) - February, 2007)

    Chefs

    Mathew Macartney, - His career started as an apprentice at the Snooty Fox in Olinda, progressed to Café Cuccina in South Yarra, and finally to the Hotel Sofitel under Raymond Capaldi and Marcus Moore. “The best training a young chef could get.” During his tenure at Lake House Macartney’s professional skills were continually extended and refined as he progressed from Commis to Head Chef, punctuated with regular short term opportunities in Fiji, New Zealand and Dubais. When he won Australia’s “Best Sous Chef” the prize was a six week appointment to any restaurant in the world. He chose Restaurant Daniel in New York. “This gave me the confidence and self belief to aim high.”
