We dined at lunch and it appeared to have been an unexpectedly busy day (we were warned we would wait 30 mins for our meal upon arrival). With this taken into account I would say we didn't have to wait that long for the food, it was the service that let them down. The food was good, I had prawn, mango and macadamia salad (somewhat lacking in mango), my fellow diners had salt, pepper and chilli calamari, stuffed mushrooms (not very substantial for the price) and prawn and smoked salmon salad. The lunch menu varies in price from about $14-28, a little pricey but they have now a $9-90 lunch specials menu. The waitress took about 30 mins to take our order and bring up our drinks, we never received water (requested on two occasions), they were slow to clear the table and we had to wait about 20mins for our coffees. Perhaps a little understaffed? I would probably dine here again, but making sure I didn't have anything planned later on and some good conversation (!)   (picky eater! - See my reviews (9) - April, 2009)

I have stayed at this Motel/Restaurant on a number of occasions and the food has always been excellent.

Only one small gripe and that would be to change the menu a little more often, but otherwise, would gladly eat there again   (maldow - See my reviews (3) - March, 2009)

Tamar Cove provides a delightful dining experience. Sited at Beauty Point on the beautiful Tamar River, Tamar cove has a wide variety of dishes ranging from fresh seafood to delicious pasta. The waiters are friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. There is a choice of dining indoors or up on their deck which provides views over the well known river. Whether its for a romantic dinner for two for a big staff dinner, Tamar Cove can cater to your needs beautifully.
