Waited half an our for our reserved table and then waited over an hour for our food after we ordered and they forgot to prepare one of the meals all together. Coffee was cold and ordinary.   (review - May, 2011)

After walking around the Cafe / Restaurant precinct of Williamstown my wife and I came across this bar with a what seemed to be nice atmosphere, little did we know.

After waiting in the doorway for 5 minutes we decided to help ourselves to menus and sit ourselves down, and still to be ignored while the staff were talking in the bar area.

I then approached the bar to ask if we could order and was told someone would come over to take our order, this again was a wait !!

The waitress took our order but seemed to have no knowledge of what was on offer as she answered the questions we had about the menu with a "not sure" and also didn't offer us any drinks (i got out of my seat and paid for them separately at the bar)

As the service was nothing to go by at this point, i was surprised by the food, both my wife and i enjoyed our meals although we were not attended to again since our food was aggressively place din front of us or for the duration of our stay, we then paid for our meal at the "very messy" bar area.

My wife and i both felt as if we should have been in a canteen and served ourselves as the staff were clearly there for social reasons and not attentive AT ALL, i would not recommend this venue in the future   (Peter - November, 2009)

I went in for dinner a few weeks ago on a Friday night and I must say I was very surprised because I had been there before and the service wasn't the best. The staff where all very friendly and polite and it they all knew about the wines and foods they where selling. The food was great, my partner ordered the stone girl to which the waitress did explain in depth about what it was and gave us a little warning that a hot stone will come out to our table! I had ordered one of the chicken dishes which I found to be a very tasteful meal, the only down part was it could have been seasoned more but I guess this is why we have salt and pepper on our tables! This particular Friday night was so busy we ended up staying majority of the night and had another bottle of wine! .. All in all, I must say the service was great the food was sensational and I would highly recommend anyone to go there especially if you wanted to have some quiet drinks with a group of friends!!!   (I tell it how it is!! - August, 2009)

I was actually sitting on the table next to the party where the umbrella fell over and noticed that despite the comment below the staff were very attentive and made sure things where ok as it almost hit us as well so i find your comment to be untrue and very unfair.

we found our food to take a little time but was worth it in the end with value for money and great HOT coffees.

my husband and i have been to Atomic bar a number of times and have not a bad word to say.

People are quick to judge and always say the first negative comment, so i hope this brings a review up to a standard of where the Atomic bar should be, i would recommend this venue to anyone,

First time we tried here they would not accommodate us by joining 2 tables together outside,there was space and tables available, we found the staff very rude and uninterested.

We decided to try it again the next weekend. What a mistake. We sat for quite some time before they gave us a menu, it was not busy at all, when we did order the meals came out and some of the meals were wrong. Again the staff were very unhelpful and uninterested, the hot drinks were cold, when asked if they could be hot next time or replaced it was too much trouble and we were given a stupid reason. Serving staff never once came to clear the table, we were left to juggle cups, glasses and plates ourselves to make room to eat. After we had finished our meal the umbrella we were sitting under fell over onto a member of our party who is heavily pregnant, not one of the staff came over to help with the umbrella or ask if she was ok. They wee outside and could see what happened. A few members of our party picked it up and put it back only to see it was not chained on like the rest of them. When we went up to pay the bill I asked about an item on the bill we never received and that I was not repaired to pay for. The person behind the bar was extremely rude, and made a comment so I decided to tell him that the serving staff were a little rude, and unhelpful and we found the food very dry, bland and basically over priced for what we got. We paid then the person behind the bar yelled at us and told us not to come back again.   (April, 2009)

We went there for lunch on a very quiet Tuesday and were offended at being asked to handover a driver's licence or credit card to sit outside. The staff said it was the cafe's policy to avoid people leaving without paying their bill. As older people who live in the area, we were embarrassed at even being asked to give a card as 'security'. We haven't been back since and refuse to eat at a cafe which makes you feel like a criminal.   (April, 2009)

great place with a funky vibe, more for younger people i think but still a huge must if your in the williamstown area, great food and friendly staff, ive never seen a waitress walk so much, the venue is rather large and spacious   (david sharp - March, 2009)

I spent new years'eve at Atomic Bar,and was a great night out.The waiters were very friendly and helpful also enjoyed the food and ambience.I definitely go again !!!!

I really enjoyed my Eye fillet the best i have had in a while. The decor is a bit industrial needs softening, not really a romantic night out place, the waitress' were few and far between given they had a couple of partys in, service could have been better.

Nice Meal and service was fantastic to start with but as soon as our mains arrived we were completely ignored. We had to call a waiter over to order more drinks and again to clear our table. we were not offered coffee or dessert so decided to leave. We had to call the waiter again for our bill, and again to take our money, then as the wait for the credit card to come back was too long, had to go up and get it ourselves. Very disappointing. They were not excessively busy so had plenty of time to do these things, just seemed to choose not to.   (hm - January, 2008)

Very enjoyable meal except for the Rosemary Chats which were undercooked. But they took this off the bill so overall very good. Would recommend to others!   (May, 2007)
