The soft shell crab was so oily you could wring it out, it was in edible. My steak was also not pleasant to eat. Definitely over priced for the quality of the food. I've had nicer meals in Melbourne that cost less.   (Lisa - December, 2012)

48 bucks for a steak?

Cheapest main option was the pasta, of which they only have five options (all have excessive amount of dairy).

Vegetarian options were very lacking, and there was minimal selection in the main menus.

I ended up getting the pasta, which was the only meal under thirty dollars.

Luckily I was there for an anniversary, as I would normally take one look at the menu prices and walk out.   (Aaron - May, 2011)

This restaurant was recomended by a local... however perhaps this individual has been living in a shed on top of mt worth for 10 years. Terrible meal, overpriced and scrappy service. Shame such a beautiful building is wasted on such an outdated restaurant.   (surfcoastfoodlover - March, 2011)

Overall not worth the time or value. Took over an hour to receive our main meals. We ordered the special 400g steak and asked for medium, came out well-done. I ordered the squid and was upsold from an entree to main, not realising for a few extra pieces it would double the price. The dipping sauce was like sugar syrup with lime leaves and the batter on the squid was soggy. The food is definitely not worth the fine dining price tag. $93 for 2 mains and an entree. On a positive it had a nice dinning setting and good customer service, but not going back.   (Lkp - September, 2010)

The courthouse has a great atmosphere, especially in winter, next to the cosy fireplace.

I love the Osso Bucco! The cous cous and prunes is a fantastic addition; definetly one of my favourite dishes.

The food is great and is priced reasonably.

Having arrived for dinner on a cold winter night we were very pleased with the open fire and general ambience of this historic courthouse restaurant. Parts of the old dock, witness box and other features of the original courthouse are used in the furnishings. The menu provides interesting information about the old courthouse and the staff was friendly and efficient. The food is excellent and there is also a good range - from gourmet pizza to duck.   (Alistair McLellan - See my reviews (2) - July, 2007)
