Means the Italian kitchen also can be understood as Italian cuisine.this restaustaurant has been created by 2 chef and a restaurateur that share one love , one life and two passions to cook real good Italian food. prosciutto san danielle, mozzarella di buffalo is the some of the big names imported from Italy to give you the real taste and experience. italian wines go well with the imported products also. and with a little campari to open the appetite and a lemoncello on the way out is a perfect way to get your real Italian fix.

Second visit to this restaurant after approx. 1 year, and an excellent experience. This restaurant has changed from 'fine dining' to target the "lower end" of the market (as confirmed by our waitress). Limited menu, if you don't want pizza. Only 4 entrees and three mains on our night. Although change of target patrons, prices haven't changed. Basic plywood tables. Blackboard menu. Cramped tables. Very noisy. Won't return.

We went here on a 'deal' and the it was amazing!! We had never been here, or known it was there. We will definately be going back, the seafood linguine was the most amazingly served meal we'd ever seen! The Calamari entree was also a hit.

      Lovely waitress and fabulous wine.

We will be back in no time :)   (L - February, 2012)

Food OK but not brilliant. So noisy we couldn't talk. Service shocking - left for ages with empty mains plates on table. No-one even asked if we'd like dessert.

      Wouldn't go back.   (manny - December, 2011)

Although ambience was nice it was too dark and we could barely read menus and, as often is the case ,we felt the music was quite loud. Enjoyed our meals and the staff were great   (April, 2011)

For Gluten free pasta options go elsewhere, Carbonara - clumped up half cooked packet pasta with ham egg and Basil? Pretty poor effort when they boast "extensive Gluten free options" not impressed at all. Very noisy, would hate to go there on a busy night. Will not be going again   (Silly Yak - April, 2011)

A fantastic restaurant from the warm welcome to the fabulous food and service. A lovely night out. A winner for Newport.

My crab linguine was a disappointment. The meat on the half crab, was cold, not from cooling but either the crab had been frozen and defrosted, or from being in the fridge. The linguine was on the wrong side of al dente, although tasted OK. Not one to be repeated. Service was very slow, and took over an hour for our meal to be served - accepting that the rissotto was cooked from scratch. Service was patchy. Really, could do with another staff member.   (louise - March, 2011)

The food was good value for money and quite tasty although my veal cotoletta was a very dark brown - on the verge of being burnt. The staff tried hard and were very pleasant.

      Would go again   (March, 2011)

2 of us had excellent meals others all said ordinary one in particular tasteles and she commentedonly to be told sorry the apprentice forgot half the ingredients .Instead of not charging for the meal they offered her free dessert .Expected 25% off as advertised but on $300 bill it was capped at $40. Wouldn't go back -they tried but too hard in some instances -pay attention to constant water faster service and a tad more light   (February, 2011)

Cucina's was very busy the night we dined, so the service was a bit slow, however the staff were very friendly and funny. I feel the food was a bit overpriced, but would definately like to try again on not such a busy night as we found the patrons noise quite loud. Overall it was a fun night.   (David - February, 2011)

    • Overall 7.8 - Food 7, Ambience 9, Value 6, Service 9

Reception was warm and inviting, Menu very promising. Only one salad and one mains as a vegetarian option and the main of gnocchi was 'mediocre'. The duck Risotto was superb. The marinara in a paper bag was very good but a black headed prawn at the end of the meal put my guest off. My carbonara was good but not outstanding for $23. Service personality was great but slow due to a full restaurant (we sat with discarded plates for quite a while). Not impressed with being charged $6 for bread and balsamic that wasn't ordered and a $10 corkage. I would try again just for benefit of doubt but a mixed review from 4 diners.   (February, 2011)

For a new restaurant there is always the case of teething problems, this restaurant's food is fantastic the flavors are wonderful. The service can be improved but as i said a new restaurant will need time to get the service right other than that great night will recommend and return!!   (David Danspasko - January, 2011)
