The Java Lounge Café is something of an institution in Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, an inner city suburb of Brisbane.
We are just a 10 minute bus ride to Trammies Corner on the 375 bus from Adelaide St in the city.
The café is situated in a heritage listed building which was once the Paddington Plaza Theatre that was opened in 1930 on the corner of Latrobe Terrace and Collingwood Street. The old theatre is described as one of only two remaining Atmospheric Picture Theatres in Australia.
The Java Lounge Café is front and centre in a group of eight eclectic, speciality shops retailing rare books, hand made chocolates, interior décor, hair styling and beauty products, designer jewellery, original fashion, antiques and collectibles and our own fabulous tea and tea ware.
The Java Lounge Café opens seven days a week from 7am for most days of the year. Christmas to New Year and Brisbane show holiday are the exceptions. Our kitchen closes at 2pm daily but tea coffee, cakes, biscuits and light snacks are available until closing time at 5pm.
