    Far too noisy for a restaurant who serves good food. Too many rowdy parties. A place just for young people, but certainly not for people who just want to have some decent food and a normal conversa...

      Far too noisy for a restaurant who serves good food. Too many rowdy parties. A place just for young people, but certainly not for people who just want to have some decent food and a normal conversation without having to shout.

      Hmm, that review is for the wrong Hotel - Doyle's & the boats are in Mordialloc. Lovely food & atmosphere, wonderful staff - have had Chrissie lunch there twice, wonderful.The Mentone has been unpredictable for past few years, they used to be great about 5 years ago. Last time I was there 2 years ago the food was inedible & the staff too rude to return.It may have changed - but last I saw they had gone downmarket and were trying to flog takeaway dinners.   (Kes - October, 2007)

      Food is great in both the Cafe and Doyles Restaurant. Doyles has one of the best, value for money, seafood platters I have had. Lovely to sit outside on a nice day, or warm evening and watch the boats go past.   (Sandra D - See my reviews (10) - December, 2006)
