If you ask anyone who has been to the pony club to describe their experience you will undoubtedly hear words like “eclectic”, “fun”, “stylish” or “unique”. From the service, to the food and certainly in regards to your surroundings we have tried to take the best of some old traditions and mixed them with the finest modern ideas.

‘Tapas’ is a Spanish food tradition synonymous with the bars and of Barcelona and San Sebastian . But because we like to share at The Pony Club, we have taken a modern interpretation of this tradition to create a unique dining experience that focuses on small tastes and shared dining. We are very passionate about our food and believe that while our tapas are not very traditional, they capture the spirit of this Spanish social ritual by offering a relaxed, social and communal way of dining.

At first glance, the chesterfield couches, wall mural and chandeliers make the pony club appear like a traditional gentlemen’s club but further investigation exposes the modern touches such as chic white leather dining chairs and mirrored walls and bars. The mix of old and new creates a space that is eclectic as well as beautiful, and makes us unique to Perth . We’ve tried to create a space that is both beautiful and relaxed at the same time and hope that you will find our restaurant a great place to celebrate or just ‘hang out’ on a Saturday night. We do!

In years gone by the best service was always accompanied by white gloves and starched linen but we think that modern dining should be relaxed and even fun. We strive to provide an exceptional level of service to our guests but in a way that is casual, friendly and maybe even a little cheeky. So while at first glance you might have trouble telling our wait-staff from some of our patrons don’t assume that just because we don’t look serious that we don’t take the standard of our service seriously. We hope that this approach will make you will feel like a VIP while also making you feel right at home.

We look forward to seeing you at The Pony Club.

      Loved everything about this place.

The staff were friendly, fun and efficient. Wine and waters were always topped and the level of attention offered was just the right balance.

The dim lighting and candles along with the stylish decor provide a beautiful ambient setting in which to dine.

But the standout for us was definitely the food.

Baked vinicotto figs with spanish ham and goats curd were sublime, as were the coffin bay oysters with a zesty ginger and eshallot dressing. The pork belly with mustard fruits was bursting with flavour and very comforting and pumpkin crepes with brown sage butter really tickled our fancy.

There menu offered great value for money. For $50/head we got to sample about 10 different dishes, plus sweets (white chocolate mousse silky smooth, just devine!) and cheese.

I highly reccommend this place for people looking for fantastic food and service in a gorgeous space.   (Littlebirdy - February, 2010)

Having dined at the Pony Club several times, I have to say Ihave walked away happy and loved up everytime.

The food is superb, some of my most recent favourites were the scallops with morcilla and caramelised apple, vinicotto baked figs with goats curd and jamon and the oysters with ginger and eshallots. I could go on and on. The menu is well balanced and thankfully for my wife has some great vegetarian offerings as well, pumpkin crepes with brown sage butter sublime.

The soft lighting, decor and tunes get a big thumbs up, and the service is always warm, welcoming and prompt.

This place has become a staple haunt for us and I highly reccomend it to anyone after great food, great service in a great space.   (Manuelle - February, 2010)

The ambience here was good however the food and associated pricing were not. The food appeared to have been pre-prepared and in a rush at that, the servings were meagre and the ingredients alarmingly stale. I could not recommend this restaurant......   (Brett - May, 2009)
