Toro's has been open and in the same location in Murray Street Port Macquarie for over 23 years.. and WE are only the 2nd owners - Toro’s changed hands in April 2003, over 8 years ago now. We believed that we could improve on it even more, and we had a lot of faith in our Recipes and unique Mexican flavours – the same ones’ that have since become the hallmark of Toro’s addictive Mexican dishes.
Toro’s has outlasted at least 3 other Mexican Restaurants that have come and gone over this time, and to this day still remains one of Ports favourite Restaurants. Lots of locals call us “Their Restaurant”.
We have a reputation for Great Service, Value for Money, Fantastic Flavours and a Terrific Mexican Atmosphere. We love large groups, so there are lots of Birthday parties & Hens nights held at Toro’s.
Our full colour Menu (with Photographs of all our dishes) allows you to easily chose from over 20 different Mexican Entrees and Main Meals... including Burritos, Enchiladas, Pork Ribs, Beef Fajitas and Chicken Breasts, Vegetarian & Vegan Dishes and lots of Gluten Free options. You can even create your own if you want. Plus there's 10 different “Meal Deals” for the kids, Banquets for 2 to 50 people, and lots of M`extras.
Most of our Main Meals are only $20 to $25... except on MAD MEXICAN MONDAY NIGHTS - when you get a genuine 2-4-1 deal on any Enchilada or Burrito Dinner, each with 14 different flavours to choose from, all made to order in any flavour-combination you desire.
All meals can be ordered any Temperature you like, from No Chilli to Hotter Than Hell. We even stock over 20 different Super-Hot Sauces you can Buy as a gift, or take home and enjoy.
There's also a fully stocked Bar with over 20 Beers to chose from (many of which are Mexican Beers) and of course we have Margaritas, Sangria, a dozen different Tequilas you can “Lick, Sip & Suck” your way through, or you can enjoy pretty much any Cocktail that takes your fancy.
We don't cut corners, we strive to please and impress our valued customers, and we do it all in a very laid back and relaxed environment. We even have Romantic Booths for more intimate dining and Take-aways are always available if you can’t stay or just wanna go home.
All of Toro’s staff are happy, friendly and helpful. They’re also very proud of the fact that together we run a very clean & hygienic Restaurant & Kitchen, one that uses quality ingredients and safe food-handling practices including safe-temperature logging. In fact our last few surprise Council Health Inspections have been checked off with “Double Ticks”, a “Very Good” and even an “Excellent”.
We have a guest book on our front counter which is filled with page after page of great comments about us and our food, so I think we must be doing something right. We have been told countless times that we are the Best Mexican ever, and we think it's the Best Mexi~Can Get.

Chef Jade - Jade came with the furniture when we bought Toro's about 7 years ago. She has been working here at Toro's since she was about 15 years old so there's nothing she can't do. She's fast, efficient, confident and is one of the best Mexican Chef's you'll ever find... and she's ours. No matter how busy we get, Jade will always take it in her stride with a smile and a determination to maintain Toro's standard of Mexican Cuisine Excellence.
Chef Owen - Owen is our newest Chef and he has taken to cooking Mexican Cuisine like a duck to water. He has quickly demonstrated a passion and flair for the job beyond his training and experience, which is just another way of saying Owen is already shaping up to be yet another excellent Mexican Chef .. Trained by Toro’s of course.
Chef Tony - Tony has been working in Hospitality for several years now and is truly passionate about Mexican Cuisine (& that's a really good thing for us). He loves his work and nothing is ever too much trouble. So if you want to make some changes to your order, just go ahead, Tony will be more than happy to make your meal exactly the way you want, and he's good at it. . . everyone loves Chef Tony.

Large Groups Information
We can cater for groups of up to about 56 people. One of the really nice things about Toro's is that we have several tables down the centre of the Restaurant that can be all pushed together making a really long single table for groups of about 20+... or we can allocate the entire back half of the Restaurant... or even close it off to the public altogether to cater for private functions. We have lots of Birthdays, Bucks & Hens nights here at Toro's.
Group booking policy Firstly, You need to let us know about your booking ASAP, especially during the Summer months as we often book out well in advance. Secondly, you need to be able to confirm exact numbers no later than a week beforehand. Like almost all restaurants these days we also have been forced to introduce a minimum charge per seat for group bookings to ensure that we don't end up losing money on the night because of no-shows. So keep this in mind when confirming numbers.
Group cancellation policy You must confirm and commit no later than a week before the date booked. You will need to give us your Credit card details to lock in the booking if it is during Holidays, Long weekends, or in the busy summer months leading up to Christmas... or anytime if the booking is for 12 or more people. Cancellations after confirmation (and/or with less than a week left) will result in a minimum charge per head being charged to your Card.
