This place is above average for this strip in this price range. Is a little cramped inside and service was a tad slower than expected but I am certainly not complaining. If you a looking for a casual place to eat, give this place a shot.   (Seb - January, 2009)

Treasury Restaurant is set in a beautiful building in the banking sector of Collins Street. In my opinion, the food menu is very limited and the wine menu was small-ish, although there were some reasonable wines available by the glass.

Service was average. When you and your guests question when staff will return, it is too long. My food came out luke-warm to warm, I didn't ask my guests as I didn't want to make a scene. My beef was cooked to my liking.

Overall, I was disappointed and would not return. This restaurant tries hard to live up to the dollar value of the meals but doesn't stack up to other restaurants in this price range.

I gave it an extra 'Ambience' point only because they had lovely clean bathroom facilities and Molton Brown handwash and creams in both the Mens and Ladies rooms.

Firstly, this is not just a meal but a unique experience. I read other reviews before going and was a little aprehensive but was pleasantly suprised.

Staff are friendly and were attentive to our every need. Drinks were topped up without asking. When we did ask for more, they were brought out promptly. We are big drinkers and we didn't go without the entire night.

Yes it is a little bit 'kitch' but It is what it is and our party of 4 Melburnians thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

Has been 10 years since I last enjoyed this experience and will go again in another 10!   (Seb - August, 2008)

Lovely food and great service. Cosy atmosphere. We went on the recommendation of another couple who accompanied us.

I disliked the size of the shared serves of rice and roti bread we ordered. We asked for 4 serves of each to share. Out came 2 x Roti breads cut into 3cm slices to share between us and 2 x small single serve rice bowls to share. Of course we paid for individual serves!

Would dine there again but not order shared serves.   (Seb - August, 2008)

Brilliant Italian Resturant. Very extensive menu and winelist. Great Daily specials and Lunch specials available. Food was fresh, served hot and in good time. Service could not have been better. One very minor niggle was that no fresh bread and oil/balsamic was offered before meal and the parmesan and pepper was brought to the table in shakers and not offered fresh by the waiter.

Other than that it is up there with the best Italian eateries I have dined at from a food perspective.   (Seb - March, 2008)

Location perfect - Food appauling! We ordered the 'signature' Charlies Burgers and steak sandwiches as a light evening meal. The food came out in good time but the hamburger buns were stale and like rocks to touch, food was lukewarm, serve size was meagre and the steak in the steak sandwich was borderline 'off' - even the chips were undercooked! We left just about everything on our plates and made a complaint only to be told we would be given a lousy 10% off. I was furious. Meal for 4 people and 1 child with 1 alcoholic bev. $100, eventually discounted to $80 - leaving hungry and very angry.   (Seb - March, 2008)

We choose to take close friends and family to this resturant on a regular basis. Always a wonderful experience in all aspects. Having BYO is an advantage too. We just love the 'trio' of desserts. Divine. Top class.   (Seb - February, 2008)

From the moment you first walk in it is like stepping back into the 80s. The decor is dated but the menu, ambience and service is certainely not. The wine menu (in my opinion) is just average but this place is BYO. I suggest you do just that. The olives and pickled veges which were served when first seated are homemade and delicious. The complimentary grappa smoked salmon served on an asian soup spoon was also delicious and fresh. This place serves fresh, wholesome food and has great service. Don't overlook this resturant because of it's location. It is worth the trip to the 'burbs.   (Seb - February, 2008)
