We went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration. We wanted to try a new restaurant, so after reading many reviews we went to Bamboo Inn. It was a Friday night and we were the only other group other than a group of eight so it wasn't very busy or noisy. It is your typical chinese restaurant with very old decor and furniture. The lighting was your fluro tubes therefore it didn't make for a very romantic dinner.

The food was quite nice and we could tell it was made fresh. They didn't use too much onion and it was packed with meat and vegetables. The servings were not huge, however we didn't go hungry. They do not have any alcohol therefore make sure you BYO as you do not get a choice.

Overall it was good food but it you are looking for a little upmarket with atmosphere and romance, it is best to go somewhere else. It is perfect for a group dinner with friends.   (fortheloveoffood - November, 2008)

  • Beaches Pizzeria

    - 22 Darley rd, Manly NSW

    Overall 8.3 - Food 8, Ambience 9, Value 8, Service 8

We went to Beaches on a Sunday night for a quick bit to eat. I have been to Beaches a while ago and remembered how good the food was, hence my return. The new fit out is great and the wine from floor to ceiling is impressive. The service was excellent with nothing a problem. The waiters were helpful letting us taste the sauce before we ordered. The garlic pizza was fantastic and the roast pumpkin pizza was beautiful.

Everything came out efficiently and the candlelit atmosphere was great. It’s not your romantic restaurant, however it is a great pizza place with character.   (fortheloveoffood - November, 2008)
