Tees' Clubhouse, Royal Pines Resort
- Ross Street,In Hotel - On the Greens , Ashmont NSWOverall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10
Possibly the best view of the Gold Coast. Prices are up there but you get what you pay for, the food is superb. As a special-occasion place it's perfect. If memory serves me the lady who manages the restaurant is named Wendy, (sorry if that's incorrect), but she's worth mentioning as she is brilliant. (MM - January, 2009)

Food Frenzy
- Musgrave Ave (Cnr Olsen Ave) , Southport QLDOverall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10
If you like steak, try Carmody's. Maybe not promoted enough but it's right up there with the best of them. Good portions, maybe a wee bit pricey but it won't keep the real steak lover away. (MM - January, 2009)

Kokonut Willys @ The Grand Hotel
- 360 Marine parade, Labrador QLDOverall 9.3 - Food 9, Ambience 8, Value 10, Service 10
Great place if you're hungry! Good food. Feels like a cafe but feeds like a restaurant. BYO and a 1-minute walk to a pretty decent bottle shop. (MM - January, 2009)

Surfers Rowers
- 150 Bundall Rd, Bundall QLDOverall 9 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 9, Service 9
Used to be Margherita's (right on the river opposite the Arts Centre). Great food and good wine selection. I notice the menu gets a $$$ rating, but for the budget-conscious - we went on a Sunday at lunchtime, and they had half price gourmet pizzas which really do taste great. Not sure if it extends to weekdays but worth checking out. Friendly staff too. (MM - January, 2009)

Loft B Y O Restaurant
- 54a Thomas drv, Chevron Island QLDOverall 1.8 - Food 3, Ambience 2, Value 1, Service 1
It would take some convincing for me to try this place again. I wouldn't normally submit a review for a place I haven't been to reasonably recently but I noticed the review by klb from September 08 which accurately describes how we found it a couple of years ago. Very disappointed. The staff were indeed rude. (MM - January, 2009)

Chiangmai Thai Restaurant
- 5-19 Palm ave, Surfers Paradise QLDOverall 9.3 - Food 9, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 9
Great food, can be crowded so the service might suffer a little some nights, but usually very good. The decor is very good and the attendants are all dressed in Thai costume which is a nice touch, adding to the authentic feel of the place. Portions can be a tad small, as is common with a lot of Thai places, but not unduly and still reasonable value. (MM - January, 2009)
