El Calamaro Restaurant
- 169 Lygon st, Carlton VICOverall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 10, Service 10
We loved Stuzzichino! A fantastic and diverse range of menu items, all well-priced ... and all of our selections were absolutely delicious. We were visiting from interstate had people coming and going from our group, ordering at different times (mid-late afternoon) and the staff members were accommodating, patient and friendly. Service was excellent and food/drinks couldn't be faulted. We will return on our next visit to Melbourne. (CJ - October, 2007)

Orizura Sushi Bar
- Victoria Dock, Hobart TASOverall 8 - Food 9, Ambience 7, Value 8, Service 8
Lovely lunches - quick service and great flavours. The sushi is made with care and attention (not the usual conveyer-belt fare), and the tempura is fantastic. The prices (about $15-$17 for a lunch course) reflect the higher standard and authentically-prepared food, but are definitely worth paying. Lovely view over the Hobart docks if you can get a window seat. (CJ - June, 2007)

Casablanca On Elizabeth
- 213 Elizabeth st, Hobart TASOverall 9.5 - Food 10, Ambience 8, Value 10, Service 10
We loved our experience at Kuzina and every course was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and professional, meals all arrived on time, and we had a fantastic night. Ambience was hit and miss - the restaurant was very noisy (almost full) and the heating system was dreadfully inadequate on a cold night - roaring hot blasts of air above some tables while the rest of the room froze. That being said, we came away raving about Kuzina, we are extremely impressed by the way hospitality apprentices are being trained here, and we will definitely return!! (CJ - June, 2010)

Lickerish
- 373 Elizabeth st, North Hobart TASOverall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 9
Brilliant. Lovely ambience, delightful little tasters of dishes while waiting for meals to arrive ... fantastic menu, well-spaced tables for private conversations, friendly staff, sensational food. Ideal for a special occasion - and after one meal there it's my new favourite restaurant in Hobart. (CJ - June, 2010)

Les Trois Etoiles
- 34-36 Cambridge rd, Bellerive TASOverall 8.3 - Food 9, Ambience 8, Value 8, Service 8
Excellent food, particularly divine pastries and unique, authentic and clever bakery items. Staff is unfairly micro-managed which means that our preference is to take-away rather than dine in. (CJ - February, 2007)

Anapurna Indian Restaurant
- 305 Elizabeth st, North Hobart TASOverall 9.3 - Food 10, Ambience 8, Value 10, Service 9
Went back to Annapurna again based on the fantastic meal we had last time. The food here really is exceptionally good. Unfortunately we were in the path of a gust of wind every time the door opened (it was a very cold night!) but it didn't dampen our spirits and we had a great night. Amazing meals, friendly and efficient service, and BYO if you want. We were VERY impressed. (CJ - June, 2007)

Fantastic Indian food... try the coconut prawn cutlets with mango sauce, beautiful! The aromas from the kitchen spill out onto the street in North Hobart, and if you haven't booked ahead then it's worth the wait to get a table. Take-away equally delicious. (CJ - February, 2007)

Expresso Bar, Melbourne Marriott Hotel
- Cnr of Londsdale & Exhibition Street, Melbourne VICOverall 9.3 - Food 10, Ambience 9, Value 9, Service 9
We dined here in late 2006 and had the most fantastic meal. Beautiful (and reasonably priced) food, excellent service (warm and attentive), warmly lit decor, and many reasons to return. Finished up with a drink in the charming old-fashioned bar. It was a romantic and memorable evening and the team at Essence made it extra special for us. (CJ - June, 2007)

- 34 Murray st, Hobart TASOverall 8.5 - Food 9, Ambience 8, Value 8, Service 9
Much better value than it used to be - food and service are great. Make sure you have a pre-dinner drink in the charming bar. (CJ - February, 2007)
