Burger Got Soul
- 243 Charles St, Launceston TASOverall 9 - Food 10, Ambience 8, Value 9, Service 9
We love Burger Got Soul- the best burger joint in Launceston. They're so filling and unbelievably tasty, and it is such good value as well! The take-away can be a bit slow at times, but we've never been to upset about it. Definitely would recommend! (Mary - July, 2011)

Pierre's
- 88 George st, Launceston TASOverall 9.5 - Food 9, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10
The best thing about Pierre's is the delicious French food and the wonderful service. I went there for my birthday a few years back, have had a work function there and have even been there for lunch- every time I have been impressed. Great decor, great service, delicious food, good value; Pierre's is definitely one to visit in Launceston. (Mary - July, 2011)

Me Wah Chinese Restaurant
- 39/41 Invermay rd, Launceston TASOverall 8.3 - Food 10, Ambience 7, Value 9, Service 7
The Me Wah is one of those restaurants that have you salivating at the prospect of dining there. Fine Chinese cuisine with a wine list to boast, we love going to the Me Wah when we have time on our hands. I try something new every time I go there and are always impressed. However the service could be improved as meals have come out quite late before, and it seems the place is over-staffed on quiet nights- we counted 6 waitstaff when there were only 4 tables to serve. I would go there again, maybe take-away next time. (Mary - July, 2011)

Jailhouse Grill
- 32 Wellington st, Launceston TASOverall 8.8 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 8, Service 9
We go there quite often with the family, especially on Monday nights. We absolutely love the Jailhouse, the steak is always cooked perfectly, the salad bar has so many tasty options that you just want to try everything, and the staff are always friendly and willing to help. The only bad experience was one night I wasn't particularly hungry and ordered the soup, and that was quite bland and disappointing- but who goes to a grill to get soup anyway. I've noticed now the meals have been downsized, but they are still tastier then ever. Thank you Jailhouse! (Mary - July, 2011)

Links Cafe/Restaurant, Country Club Tasmania
- Country Club Av, Prospect Vale TASOverall 6.5 - Food 5, Ambience 9, Value 5, Service 7
When we dined there a year or so ago, the theme was an American buffet- and what a terrible buffet it was. The American pizza was cold, the sweet and sour pork chops had barely any sauce and were so tough with fat that it was almost impossible to eat. The desserts consisted of a rubbery Key Lime Pie, popcorn and doughnuts- not what you'd call fine dining. The service was fine, the ambience was lovely due to it being at the Casino, however the value and quality of the food were so very average. Would avoid dining there again. (Mary - July, 2011)

Flip
- 23 George st, Launceston TASOverall 3 - Food 3, Ambience 5, Value 3, Service 1
We ordered Flip burgers for delivery- and what a disappointment. Not only did our order arrive 2 and half hours after we ordered. We called up to complain and the person said they would throw free things in for us, but there were no 'freebies' in our paper bag. When the food arrived finally it was cold, soggy and the buns were so tough, it was a challenge to get through them. We appreciated the free delivery, however when the lady arrived she didn't even know how much our order was! I'm sure dining in might be a much better experience, however I can't recommend buying these burgers, just from my awful delivery experience. (Mary - July, 2011)

Black Cow Bistro
- Cnr George & Paterson Sts, Launceston TASOverall 8.5 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 7, Service 9
I loved dining at the Black Cow- and what wonderful food and service you provide. A classy little bistro in the heart of the CBD, the Black Cow is certainly a place I will be visiting again. Thank you! (Mary - July, 2011)

Prickly Cactus
- 72 George Street, Launceston TASOverall 9.3 - Food 9, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 9
I love The Prickly Cactus- good Tex Mex food, amazing ribs, and those fishbowls are a ripper. All the staff were absolutely wonderful, especially one waitress who gave us her name but we've forgotten now. I can't fault barely anything about this restaurant- maybe the only thing was how noisy it was! But that can't be helped, it's clearly a very popular place on Saturday nights. Would definitely go back, recommend it to all my friends. Thanks Prickly Cactus! (Mary - July, 2011)
