La Boheme Restaurant
- 9/332 Darling st, Balmain NSWOverall 8.8 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 8, Service 9
Dined at La Boheme for the first time during Mother's Day, during which time they served a set menu. The food was wholesome, delicious and well-presented. The staff were attentive, without being pushy. The building itself is very atmospheric and feels very much like a European beer hall. Only minor niggle is that they didn't accept the Entertainment Card on Mother's Day - but it was still reasonable value. Well recommended for dining with friends. (roshodgekiss - May, 2010)

Thai Pothong
- 294 King st, Newtown NSWOverall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10
A brilliant night out for a birthday party - the food is delicious and the service is without rival in Sydney. The waitress even took photos on her camera and emailed them to us! Thank you for another faultless night, Thai Pothong. (roshodgekiss - May, 2010)

- 3-13 Erskineville rd, Newtown NSWOverall 9.8 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 9, Service 10
As always, excellent value for money, excellent service. My partner and I have been back many times and recommend it highly.
We visited for their Valentines' Day set menu and were not disappointed. Recommended for an intimate dinner or night out with friends. (roshodgekiss - February, 2010)

Chedi Restaurant
- 1/74- 78 King st, Newtown NSWOverall 7.5 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 7, Service 7
Dined at Chedi with eight friends on a Friday night. The venue is very presentable, with plenty of lovely Thai-themed touches such as wicker upright chairs, the option of floor seating and flattering ambient light throughout the restaurant. That said, when the restaurant fills up, it does get quite noisy, but not to the point where you can't hold a conversation across the table.
The service here is decidedly hands-off; the staff only make themselves present to take orders and serve, which they do with minimal fuss. Efficiency seems to be the objective here, so don't expect the same level of interaction as you enjoy at your local. However, the meals come out quite rapidly, so such efficiency obviously has its benefits.
The food itself is fresh, well presented and flavoursome, however the variety doesn't pull any real punches - much of what can be found here is common to other Thai restaurants in the area. That said, the duck stir-fry is certainly a delight and the crispy pork was decadent enough to be a point of discussion the following day. Even now, I'm kicking myself for not ordering the fish souffle (ho mok pla), as it holds a particular nostalgia with me.
In all, Chedi makes for a great (albeit safe) night out with friends, however at $30 a head for entrees and a main, it does face solid competition from a litany of other well-presented, but considerably more affordable options on busy King St. Recommended. (roshodgekiss - March, 2009)

Thai Pothong
- 294 King st, Newtown NSWOverall 7.8 - Food 8, Ambience 8, Value 7, Service 8
Dined on the Valentines Day set menu; service was warm and considerate, the selection of food scrumptious and the Valentines Day service worked like clockwork. The beef salad is highly recommended. Will definitely return to try their regular menu and would highly recommend this venue for a romantic meal or dining with friends. (roshodgekiss - February, 2009)

Again, an excellent experience at Delhi O Delhi. Despite being nearly a full house, the waitstaff treated our group with professionalism and patience. Food, as always, impressed our guests thoroughly. An excellent night. (roshodgekiss - November, 2008)

Redoak Boutique Beer Cafe
- 201 Clarence st, Sydney CBD NSWOverall 10 - Food 10, Ambience 10, Value 10, Service 10
As someone that can't resist proclaiming the Redoak Boutique Beer Cafe as the jewel of Sydney's beer scene, it is simply no hassle to say that they have triumphed again. As always, superior service, fabulous food and drink recommendations and their world-famous beer have kept my friends and I returning for more. Don't miss the Redoak! (roshodgekiss - February, 2008)

Delhi O Delhi never lets down its guard - even amongst regular patrons. As always, the food was fabulous, and the wait staff showed all 9 of our guests the patience, professionalism and excellent service that we have come to love in this restaurant. Definitely the best Indian venue in Newtown! (roshodgekiss - February, 2008)

Bavarian Bier Cafe - Manly
- 2/5 Manly Wharf, East Esp., Manly NSWOverall 8.5 - Food 8, Ambience 9, Value 8, Service 9
Went for the Tuesday $15 schnitzel and schnapps challenge - although the schnitzel was large, it wasn't particularly challenging so the schnapps made for a pleasant dessert. Service was attentive and pleasant and the schnitzel came out promptly, so the Manly Bavarian Bier Cafe made for a very pleasant night out. (roshodgekiss - February, 2008)

The most delicious Indian food I've tasted in Sydney, hands down. The wait service are not only highly professional, but very friendly and immensely helpful with interpreting the menu.
The restaurant itself can get quite noisy (we were sitting across from a large group), but on a quieter night I'm sure it would have a more romantic feel.
Very good value, with an additional 10% discount on food for Dendy Club members. Highly recommended. (roshodgekiss - August, 2007)
