D'Browes Restauarant
- 85 Boolimba Cr, Narrabundah ACTOverall 7.8 - Food 9, Ambience 7, Value 7, Service 8
D'Browe's is best at lunch. The $35 two course and the $45 three course menus are the best deals. $8 a bottle for corkage is steep, but tolerable. At dinner time it is a bit more pricey but the same reliable dishes - coffin bay oysters, lamb shanks...don't be afraid to venture into the specials, but make sure you get the details in case there's anything in there you don't like! La Scala Italian Restaurant
- Groud Floor, Centre Cinema Bldg, Bunda st, Canberra ACTOverall 5.8 - Food 5, Ambience 7, Value 5, Service 6
I go to La Scal all the time and it is normally very good. Unfortunately, on this particular ocassion the lamb, which we were warned would be rare, which is fine, was well done, which is not fine. The crab and pasta pillows were fairly tasteless. We ordered at 12.30 and got lunch after 2pm. We were given free desert. Hopefully next time will be good as we normally receive from La Scala. Disappointed. (Livetolunch - May, 2011)

Rick Stein at Bannisters
- 191 Mitchell Pde, Mollymook NSWOverall 5 - Food 7, Ambience 6, Value 3, Service 4
I visited Bannisters restaurant for a family dinner. The food was very small portioned and seriously overworked. Noveau cuisine to the max, the food was tasty though - you couldn't go and just eat a main course because you'd need to stop for a sandwich on the way home. Complementary dirty looks from their gay and lesbian patrons if you dare to bring your children! (Livetolunch - February, 2009)

Belgian Beer Café
- 29 Jardine st, Kingston ACTOverall 6.5 - Food 7, Ambience 6, Value 7, Service 6
This place would be better if they ever had their speciality available - Mussels. I've been four times and only once got mussels. The food and value for money are reasonable, the service by the staff is great. Unfortunately though, last time I visited I phoned to make sure the mussels were available, so I went along to the restaurant, then after ordering the mussels and eagerly waiting 1.5 hours the waitress came to the table and said they were off the menu - talk about annoying! I won't try again. (Livetolunch - February, 2009)

Ivory Hotel Restaurant
- 156 Wharf st, Tweed Heads NSWOverall 8.8 - Food 9, Ambience 9, Value 9, Service 8
I had the cuttle fish entree and steak main, both excellent. The steak was good, but not prime quality - possibly because it was from the special early diners $25 menu which was good value. The cheeses are really good, particularly the soft cheese - fabulous - you could just have a bottle of wine and cheese - it was great. (Friday 12 June lunch.) (Livetolunch - June, 2009)

Tiger Lil's
- 437 Murray st, Perth WAOverall 6.8 - Food 9, Ambience 7, Value 5, Service 6
I went on a Thursday night and had the pork balls and duck three ways - very fancy presentation - over the top venue highly decorated, but also a bit dark. I'd go again, but it is definitely for those with deep pockets. (Livetolunch - January, 2009)

Oriental Kitchen
- 88 Garema Place, Canberra ACTOverall 8.8 - Food 9, Ambience 7, Value 10, Service 9
Great place for anything from a $5.50 take-away lunch box to a full blown sit-down lunch with BYO wine. The food is good and reasonably priced, this place is in the running to become my new favourite. I've been here 30 or 40 times over the years, but in the last few months the food seems to be getting even better! (Livetolunch - December, 2008)

La Pasa

I've been here several times, the food is pretty good but the prices aren't great for what you get. I'd go again. (Livetolunch - December, 2008)
