We stopped in for a late lunch after driving from Melbourne and boy did this cafe deliver, the waiting staff new their menu items and the food was efficiently cooked and served with love. The place was such a hit we came back the next day for brekky and the staff welcomed us again with all smiles. Nice variety of options and beautifully presented as well as tasting superb! To the last reviewer who compared his/her waitress to a gorilla... shame on you. Also, you seem to be a wee bit confused. Restaurants aren't generally the place to go for grocery shopping. May I suggest when you're next in need of vanilla beans for your larder, you try a market or continental deli?

The food at Vanilla Bean was delicious. Their home-made penne bolognese was fantastic, as was the chicken breast with roast vegetables. My partner wants the recipe for that sauce! Although a little noisy (high ceilings and wooden floors will do that), the atmosphere was warm and friendly. Thanks for a great night.   (kdat - August, 2010)

When I first walked in to the Vanilla Bean, what I noticed was the restricted space. There was no room to move. STRIKE ONE. Sitting down, looking at the menu I saw that - despite the guarantee in the restaurant name - they did not sell vanilla beans. STRIKE TWO. Finally, a waitress came. Her name tagged said 'Maddy Pudney' but her posture screamed gorilla. I decided I was going to try the food. The curly fries were not curly. STRIKE THREE.   (review - See my reviews (2) - May, 2010)

Amazing food the pumpkin gnocchi and meditteranean steak sandwich is especially recommended, and we are definitely regular visitors for cakes. My personal favourite are the mini lemon meringue pies   (Amazing - July, 2009)
