Coronavirus: An update for Menulog customers

The health and safety of our customers, restaurant partners and couriers is Menulog's top priority.

We have been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and in light of recent developments, have made some additional changes to how we operate to help ensure the safety of everyone using the Menulog network.

Contact-free now across all orders

Amid the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, we want to remind all customers that Contact-free collection and delivery is now implemented for all orders, to help ensure the health and safety of the entire Menulog community.

Contact-free Collection

With more people now collecting meals from restaurants for takeaway, it is very important to maintain a safe distance from both restaurant staff, couriers and delivery drivers and other people when you select the 'pick up' option. To do this, we recommend you:

  1. Alert the restaurant to your arrival. The restaurant could be closed for dine-in or the doors are shut, so make sure you are visible to staff.
  2. Step back a safe distance from staff and wait for them to place the food on the counter or a table
  3. Step forward to collect your order.

If there are several people waiting, please remember to keep the Australian Government recommended distance apart. If needed, stand back and call the restaurant to alert them of your arrival.

Contact-free delivery

All restaurants and couriers have been advised of Contact-free deliveries. However we do recommend customers include a note for the restaurant's driver or Menulog courier as to where to leave the food by using the 'notes' function as follows:

  1. Login, order and checkout as per usual
  2. Include your preferred location in the 'notes box' - e.g. "Contact-free delivery: Please leave [add location/ instruction]

Supporting restaurant partners

We have continued to provide the latest guidance from leading health authorities to all of our restaurant partners and have increased provisions for keeping food protected during the delivery process. It's important to remember health authorities have confirmed there is no evidence to suggest COVID-19 is transmitted via food. Customers can feel confident to continue to order from local restaurants as they normally would, knowing we are taking food safety and health very seriously and will continue to update guidance as the situation evolves.

Communicating with couriers

We have continued to provide food couriers with the latest guidance on how to safely operate in the current environment, as well as additional recommendations on how to best interact with restaurants and customers and to best ensure the cleanliness of all delivery equipment. All couriers will be on the lookout for Contact-free Delivery Instructions too.

Ongoing monitoring

We always take our responsibilities, as an organisation that connects restaurants, customers and couriers, very seriously and in light of the current situation, will continue to provide updated guidance for you and everyone across the Menulog community when it comes to food safety and health. We are prepared to continue to take further action as the situation continues to evolve.
