The cuisine of the small country of Tibet reflects its cool, mountainous landscape and proximity to nearby India, China and Nepal. Common ingredients in Tibetan cuisine include noodles, goat, yak, mutton and cheeses (from yak or goat milk). Warming soups, thickened with rice, barley or noodles, are common, often containing yak or sheep stock and a variety of cheeses.
