About Last Train to Bombay (Crows Nest)

Established over 16 years ago by experienced restaurateur Harry Virk, The Last Train To Bombay restaurants are celebrated for their unique Indian cuisine, relaxed ambience and excellent service. Harry Virk and his specialist chefs offer a truly authentic Indian dining experience, creating the finest dishes, famous for their intricate spicing, skilful sauces and delicious flavours. “Don’t miss The Last Train To Bombay. Anyone on a journey to explore India’s regional culinary delights should climb aboard. There’s a choice of destinations, thanks to a team of specialist chefs … We’ve reached not Bombay, but foodie Nirvana.” Joland Waskito, Sunday Telegraph, 4 March 2007 “Eating here is like being in a first class dining car chugging across India. Atmospheric snaps of railway scenes from the sub-continent adorn a wall and behind a glass panel, chefs are slapping chapattis between their hands and spoon out exotic fare such as goat aloo (baby goat with potatoes and coriander).” “When Prince Raj Mewar, son of the Majaharajah of Udaipur, studied hotel management here, he was a regular at Last Train To Bombay. On what we saw, the Prince is a pretty good judge.” Jeff Collerson, Daily Telegraph, 6 January 2007.

We are about to receive our 2nd free dinner from Last Train to Bombay. It's delicious. Always on time. A tad expensive, but it's pretty average for good Indian food this area. It is an amazing taste; a flavour sensation. It's the real cumbasta relieva. Roly-poly's on command. If the shoe fits.

    Almost perfect!

Excellent food. We have been coming to Last Train for years and find it to be the best Indian food in the area.

  • Overall 1.7 |  Food 2  |  Value 2  |  Speed 1

95mins for delivery, rang up at 90mins and no apology. Food arrived cold, sauce had split, really poor meal. Usually the food is good and worth the 60mins wait but tonight was beyond disappointing.

    Late and cold

The food is delicious ! Whenever I crave dosa, I order from here. They make veg and non veg dishes, both with same expertise. I stay close to Crows nest so I hope in future I get my order delivered faster.

  • Overall 8.3 |  Food 9  |  Value 8  |  Speed 8

    Best Indian in Crows Nest

This was our first time ordering from Last train to Bombay, friends had recommended them. We will be back again and again. Everything was delicious, there was lots of food and the delivery took less time than estimated. Friendly delivery guy and all round good experience.

  • Overall 5 |  Food 7  |  Value 3  |  Speed 5

The website and even their pamphlet says free delivery... min order $X. However, the takeaway and delivery prices for each item (including Roti) in the menu are different. For E.g. Price for Chicken Tikka Masala is $14.9 for pick up and $18.9 for delivery. Roti cost $2 for pick up and $2.5 for delivery. So, net net, you end up paying 25-30% more for home delivery inspite of being quoted "Free delivery".

  • Overall 6 |  Food 6  |  Value 6  |  Speed 6

Food was fine but the service is not up to mark. The delivery guy didn't come up to 12th floor for delivery and later called and asked me to come down. Also, if your order is above $50, you get 2 complimentary drinks. I had called them and confirmed the drinks but I received only one drink. Delivery guy said he was asked to deliver only one. I had no time to debate with him. I had requested for lemon slices in the comments but that were not sent. This is the second time this has happened.

  • Overall 10 |  Food 10  |  Value 10  |  Speed 10

This food was amazing! It was still really hot and sooooo tasty!

Last train to Bombay is always good for home delivery/pickup.
