If there’s one beer in Australia that’s managed to capture the spirit of where it’s brewed, it’s the Pacific Ale from Stone & Wood. The beer is brewed in Byron Bay, a little piece of paradise on the NSW Pacific Coast that’s blessed with sun, sand, surf and a laid-back vibe. When Brad Rogers, Jamie Cook and Ross Jurisich left careers with one of Australia’s largest brewers to start a craft brewery there, the environment proved the catalyst for the creation of a modern Aussie classic.
Using all-Australian ingredients, the Pacific Ale packs a huge aroma of passionfruit and citrus while remaining crisp, light and full of flavour - just the kind of thing you might want to throw down after a hard day amongst the waves. This is a freakishly enjoyable beer that couldn’t be more perfect for summer days....

The definition of ‘balter’ is to dance artlessly without particular skill or grace, but usually with enjoyment. There’s something unintentionally joyous about it, which is why it makes a great name for this brewery. Balter Brewing Company was founded in 2016 by surfing champs Joel Parkinson, Mick Fanning, Bede Durbidge and Josh Kerr (plus a few more mates), on the sunny shores of Currumbin, Gold Coast.
Our panel of XPA judges can certainly vouch for the waves of deliciousness in Balter XPA, which to date has more than 20 awards to its short name. They remarked on its enticing tropical fruit aroma and flavour, balanced by slight bitterness and smooth, clean, refreshing finish. Brewed for those who enjoy a fully-hopped beer that’s still easy to drink, this might be extra pale, but there’s nothing weak about it. Take a sip, and your taste buds will appreciate the combination....

His legacy and dream lived on long after his death and now we experience and appreciate the perfection that more than 100 years of crafting and expertise can offer in a gin....

France’s William Fevre declared his first crop in 1959 and is now considered the godfather of traditional Chablis. And this light and lively Petit Chablis carries that authority with aplomb. We love the delicate bouquet combining notes of citrus fruit, white fleshed fruit, and flowers. Fresh and supple, the wine is marked by light mineral notes, typical for the appellation.
The cool climate of Chablis produces wines with more acidity, and flavours less fruity than Chardonnay grown in warmer climates. Planted over limestone clay gives wines flavours of minerals....
The winner was my favourite of the line-up - a delicious wine. It was really clean and crisp, with lemon and curdy notes, but Chablis doesn’t have any oak in it, so its nice and fresh and had beautiful length. I’d drink it with shellfish, any kind of white fish, or tagliatelle with pipis, garlic and chilli.” - Leon Thomas, National Sales Manager, Rathbone Wine Group.

This wine from Pikes is one to add to the wine list! The Pikes have successfully followed in their grandfather Edgar’s footsteps as a highly awarded winemakers. But they aren’t blessed with Edgar’s skill when it comes to punting on the horses. That’s a good thing for us, because all their talent has gone into this elegant Riesling, named in honour of their grandfather. It’s a guaranteed winner this autumn.

A single sip of Wente Chardonnay was enough to leave the entire tasting panel with the lasting impression that above all else, balance is central in Wente's winemaking philosophy. When you delve into the winemaking techniques adopted this is reaffirmed; 50% of the wine is fermented in French oak while the other 50% is fermented in stainless steel tanks. It was in this balance that we found a clear winner.

When the first German immigrants arrived in South Australia, they brought with them their culture, religion, and a hard work ethic. They established vineyards and built a church to house their faith in a small town. However, the two priests disagreed on most things. In an attempt to stop their quarrelling two separate churches were built. The original preachers might not have seen eye to eye, and these days we still have our differences, but one thing we all agree on is South Australia’s reputation to grow world class wine.

By blending the essential oils from herbs that we have gathered from around the Mediterranean shores with highest-quality quinine from the 'fever trees' of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, we have created a delicate, floral tonic water. We use less quinine in our Mediterranean Tonic which, with the addition of rosemary and lemon thyme, produces a much lighter, more fragrant tonic.
We start with the idea that, if ¾ of your drink is the mixer, then you should use the best. We work with only the best naturally sourced ingredients from around the world and no artificial flavourings or sweeteners to create mixers that do justice to the world's finest spirits....
