2nd August 2016

Australian food delivery platform Menulog has announced record results for the first half of 2016. The Menulog Group achieved revenue growth of 77% year on year, delivering 6.4 million orders for their restaurant partners in the first half of 2016.

Restaurants continue to flock onto the platform to promote and grow their businesses. Menulog now offers more than 130 cuisine types from 7,500 restaurants. More and more people are discovering the speed and convenience of online ordering with over 2.3 million customers having purchased in the past year.

The company recently hired Alistair Venn, previously of Groupon, to head up the Australia and New Zealand operations. Venn has been tasked with leading Menulog by driving business transformation and growth in this sector to the benefit of its restaurants and consumers.

MD Alistair Venn said: “As we approach Menulog’s tenth birthday in Australia, we’re very excited to deliver such impressive growth for our 7,500 restaurant partners. As part of this continued focus on our restaurants and customers, we are heavily investing in our people, our marketing and our technology to help customers discover new cuisines and enhance the order experience.”

“Our focus in a competitive industry is providing value to our restaurant partners and providing a compelling offer to our customers in terms of a comprehensive range and services.” “8 out of 10 orders in Australia are still made by telephone and we are excited by the enormous growth opportunity to digitise and improve the experience for restaurants and customers across Australia and New Zealand.”
