The cuisine of Argentina is well-known for its beef-based or ‘carne’ dishes, the most popular being ‘asado’ or grilled, barbequed meat. While there are many regional variances, the food is heavily influenced by the country’s European roots. Chimichurri, a sauce of herbs, garlic and vinegar, is the most common condiment, and traditionally does not contain chilli.

Other popular Argentinian dishes include Choripán (a street food made up of pork and beef chorizo cooked over charcoal and served in a long bun) and Carbonada, (a savoury stew, made of meat, vegetables, bacon and then topped with fruits). Desserts play a big role in Argentinian cuisine, with Dulce de Leche a favourite. While beef features heavily in Argentinian dishes, there are so many other tasty dishes worth trying too!
