Ever been confused by what 'Bistro' means, exactly? A 'bistro' is simply a small restaurant serving relatively quick and simple meals in an unassuming environment. They're basically a more economical version of a restaurant proper, but here in Australia, Bistro food is more commonly referred to as "pub food". Originally a Parisian concept, today bistros are mostly part of hotels, bars and pubs, and don't necessarily serve one specific cuisine, but rather a wide range of dishes. Typical Bistro food can range from pizza, fish and chips, and steak, to ceasar salad, linguine pasta and hamburgers. We'd say that Bistro food is your best bet for a crowd pleasing option, particularly if you're looking to feed a group of kiddies and adults.
